How to rock a high-waist skirt. We’re having a near-record heat/humidity index here and it’s hard to think about style, beyond “is this washable?”. But going out for lunch wearing only a cotton bandana isn’t recommended, or legal.
Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!
So we work our closets for cool, classy outfits. This fab high-waist Haitian-print skirt is the base for a lot of sunny looks. I found it at Suzanne’s vintage shop, (where I also have my eye on this charming high-waist piece). The high waist calls for either a cropped length top or, in this case, a tucked-in tank. You just don’t want to hide the elegant waist here.
My new marine blue linen tank is super-breezy (and washable 😄). It’s from Etsy, and I liked it so much I ordered another in deep green. The tank has a ruffled hem, so when I wear it untucked, I go for slim midi skirts or trousers. It looks equally fresh tucked into my art skirt here, and paired with my Sofft wedge sandals.

It seems like it has been HOT HOT HOT everywhere this summer. That’s a great summer skirt; you could wear it with lots of different colours. A perfect summer outfit when you want to be comfortable and chic.
Hi Patti! As always, I love your fresh looks. That high-waisted skirt is delightful with your Etsy tank.
Please forgive the double comments if this makes its way through more than once. I’m testing things to see if I’ve solved the mystery of why I can’t post comments on WordPress sites.
Hugs,
Sherry

Love this look! That tank is a great find and perfect for your steamy temperatures. Saturated colours like that look amazing on you.
That is another brilliant thing about that skirt, you can match so many different colours to it.
I can’t imagine what your heat it like. It is hot here today too and I haven’t considered wearing anything other than my cut-off shorts and a tee and even then I’m only outside when I can find shade.
Thanks for the shout-out!

We just had an unusual heat wave and I shied away from anything touching my waist–the more air could circulate the better. But your skirt is so beautiful, and the rich blue top works perfectly with it. You look cool and classy.
Good morning, TOF! thanks for your kind words, and for sharing those fabulous motos! xox
I’m here! So glad your door is still open, Patti. And you are still the coolest host in town in that skirt and tank. I wondered how long the blazer would last. Hahaha!!! I needed my sun parasol today. Whew. It’s a scorcher here but probably you’d find it cool. Thanks for the party.
Yeah, the blazer was for screen time only, like those bikini models who frolic in the surf in January. Thanks for coming over and sharing your amazing adventures, xox.
Patti, you find the coolest things! Love that Haitian-print skirt. We are just starting to warm up so I’m looking forward to some heat, but I know what you mean about humidity!
