Keeping It Light And Simple: Visible Monday

Keeping it all simple and light. It seems I am moving toward my Minimalist Period; it could have something to do with the hot wet blanket that is Florida summer. Just the essentials, ma’am, and make them spare. Like an effortless cotton/linen sundress.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

I am crazy for this simple sundress, that does not even need a bra. Love the stripes and the open neckline, and smocking on the back bodice, for a perfect fit. It’s by And Other Stories, a brand owned by Swedish clothing giant H & M. I thrifted the dress in NYC at Housing Works for about $25. Summer score!

Stories originally started as an idea to launch a beauty brand, but the H&M team behind the secret project realized they had more to say. So from its conception, & Other Stories intended to be a collection of different perspectives, hence their name.”  Source.

simple and light
This dress needs only sunglasses and sandals to make a cool summer outfit.

The metallic wedge sandals from Sofft are on heavy rotation. They harmonize well with dresses and skirts as well as palazzo trousers. I’m wearing my much-loved ruby ball ring, crafted by artist O, and a vintage ID bracelet gifted to me by Bryan. Even my jewelry has to be minimal now, and my eye is starting to love the simple look.

My darling husband/photographer moved some potted plants around, and now Kitty is jungle Kitty. Roar.

Are you minimal or maximum this season? No wrong answers. Show us in the link-up.

I’m transported to somewhere warm and free from obligations. To wear a dress with such visual symbolism must impact how you see yourself as you go about your day in sunny Florida. What a fabulous find! I love those shoes, too!
