The Last Visible Monday

Everything changes, the one eternal truth, yes? So Visible Monday is changing into a meaningful chapter of my past, making way for new adventures. Today will be the last Visible Monday style link-up, but not the last of Not Dead Yet Style.

The friendships and connections we’ve made over the years are priceless, as well as all the knowledge and wisdom shared. We’ve seen each other get married, divorced, retire, have grandkids, start businesses, redecorate our houses, move to new countries, and grow a bit older together.

In Toronto, celebrating the launch of Melanie’s ad campaign. She’s fabulous. And I’m wearing a horse dress from Suzanne’s vintage Etsy shop.

The Visible Monday style link-up started with a post I wrote in June 2011, called The Invisible Woman. For the first actual Visible Monday post in July 2011 I asked you to email me your pics. And six of you did, what fun that was! Advanced technology has made link-ups much easier but I miss the excitement and freshness of those early attempts.

The first Visible Monday, back at our cottage with the magical gardens, in 2011. Damn, I was cute! And I thought I was getting on in years at age 56. Hah.

For nearly nine years we’ve been enjoying the easy companionship and style-sharing at Visible Monday. We participants have gotten to know each other in a deeper way, and even made lasting friendships. Now it’s time to expand and enjoy our connections on new roads. I have ideas, and I bet you do, too.

Dreamy day for visibility. I donated this skirt and now I miss it.

I’ll miss your style pictures and all the inspiration you’ve provided! But we can still communicate; I’ll be blogging once a week and branching out into other realms that touch on aging, beauty, love, and living peacefully. And of course I will be following your journeys on your own blogs, and sending nothing but gratitude and affection.

I will keep you all in mind, that’s for certain.

So I’m dispatching big virtual hugs to you, and look forward to seeing you in fresh new ways. Stay fabulous, and thank you again!

  1. Enjoyed being a part of visible Monday and loved your style link up. I remember that was the first link up challenge I participated in. Like your choices. Both the attires and accessories. All the blogs linked up here are informative. Love to follow style and fashion and I try my bit up improvise it.

  2. Oh WOW, Patti. I just saw this, evidence of how I have been out of the loop. I have such huge, huge gratitude for you and Visible Monday. Your linkup played a major role in getting me started blogging in the first place, you and Bill Cunningham, and the encouragement of other women who met and mingled here. I would not have been in that poster had I not had this positive pathway laid out through efforts like Visible Monday. There has been a real impact here. And you ROCKED that dress at the party – everyone was enthralled. What an incredibly exciting night made special when you could come!!!

And I am excited about your next steps in life, here and not here too. Our friendship means so much. Huge hugs. And sorry for bringing all those horrible snacks to your meetup parties and spiking the punch – I couldn’t help myself. xox

  3. Thank you Patti for hosting the longest-running and one of the first link-up parties ever! Congratulations on a big run.

Fun Fact, it was you and your boldness who actually inspired me to begin blogging, and for that, I am forever grateful. You were one of the first pioneers – before social media and all that stuff. You gave us a space to share our love of style and gain support and confidence to get out there and let our style shine bright.

I look forward to what’s to come and will continue to follow you in your journey, where ever it may take you.
    Hugs,

Often dashing to the computer as Hubby called me that supper was ready, and I’d have to yell… “I’ll be right there. I’m posting my link to Patti’s party.” Good luck with the new direction. I’ll be stopping by to see where you’re headed next. xo
