Welcome to Visible Monday #77! If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the easy how-to.
I hope you are all enjoying the goodwill of the holidays and staying safe/sane. The senseless murders in Connecticut last week have cast a pall over the spirits of so many. Hug the ones you love, and what the heck, hug somebody you just barely like, to remember that life is fleeting.
I look rather Christmas-y in this work outfit. I wasn’t planning that, but I like the results. It’s a black GAP tee on top, a thrifted Banana Republic wool skirt, and a teal cardigan. I saw that the combo was nice enough, but a bit like an egg without salt. So I added a super-colorful scarf I bought on eBay. Better!
Festive and simple for the office. |
Not bad, but it needed some extra love. |
Now, let’s see what you’re wearing, Visible Women!!

Splash that color as much as you want. You just got pinned to my new board Fashionista Boomers……..Sorry that's the best title I could come with tonight.
Please enjoy you Holiday and take time to smell the season.
I love that scarf!
Beautiful colors. I love that scarf.
The touch of festive color is a great addition, but you pull off understated as well. And great boots.

Great scarf! I love the long length and vibrant colors. And teal is such a wonderful color on you, Patti.
Visible Mondays have become something that make me look forward to beginning of the week! It is like a party with some great friends, some yet to meet, some known already. At the center of it, lovely you, beckoning us with your warm and welcoming smile and sizzling style. Scarves are so great aren't they? I've yet to master this very powerful style weapon. You my friend conquer all in a silkie.
Don't you look incredible in red? That scarf really does add pizazz to your outfit, I love it. x
Love this! The color combo is perfect and I love how you compared your outfit to an egg salad without salt, too funny, I feel that ways sometimes too. The scarf was the perfect addition.

The scarf is perfect – it just pops off the teal so beautifully. You look gorgeous, Patti! So good to see all these amazing woman in their party clothes!
That is such a pretty scarf!
i love the combination of teal and black with the light brown belt too. with the scarf it is more festive. the scarf is marvellous. i agree with you we should show our dears the love that we feel for them.
The scarf is the perfect touch for that outfit. An alternative might be to add a really great necklace or brooch. The outfit is really flattering and professional, but you're right, it just needed a little something-something 🙂
The scarf definitely adds a punch. That cardigan is a really beautiful color. I giggled a bit at the "hug somebody you barely like".
Patti–the outfit was great with just the cardigan but the scarf made it FABULOUS!!!
Hugs across the world are especially necessary after that tragedy.
You look vibrant and beautiful in that lovely outfit, the scarf makes it.
Love the colorful scarf! (of course!)
I missed your post the other day–I posted a comment, but so glad to be still leading the mini-skirt way……
Enjoy your holiday season!
I love that teal cardi over that all black look.
Yes, the addition of the scarf makes it fabulous! I love your analogy of the egg without salt…
I like it without the scarf too. 🙂
Yup, sometimes an outfit needs just a little pizzazz, and that scarf certainly has it! It looks great with teal.
Sending virtual hugs because, why not?
