Welcome to Visible Monday #62! If you want to participate, it’s so
easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the simple how-to.
I’ve been reaching for lace tops this summer, haven’t I? I know lace can skew matronly, so I am trying to keep the look casual and modern. This silhouette is one of my favorites, a slim feminine top over a full skirt. I started the day with the scarf around my neck but it’s still summer-in-full here. It’s too hot today for a neck-scarf, so it took on belt duty.
The Talbot’s silk skirt was supposed to be donated this month, but I find I still enjoy it too much. My simple accessories for the heat are a couple of bangles and Anne Klein nude sandals. And some unruly hair. I think this calls for mousse!
The Picasso print might be a little crooked. But with Picasso, how does one know for sure? : > |
I really like the vintage silk scarf, thrifted for just a few dollars. |
Now, let’s see what you’re wearing, Visible Women!!
The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple!
- Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
- Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post.
- Go to the bottom of this post and click on this cute little link:
In the “Next Step”, you crop the pic (easy tool) you want to display, and you’re done!

If you still love the skirt, why on Earth donate it? Wear it until it falls from your body in shreds!
Love your pretty lace look!
Oh, Patti I am LOVING all this lace on you! It flatters you so well 🙂 You look so pretty.

Another vote for keeping that skirt. 🙂  I also agree about that silhouette being so flattering. You look joyful, and I adore your unruly hair. Thank you so much for hosting Visible Mondays!Â
No matter what your hair still looks good and you. Lace does look good and you and you look much younger. 🙂
Thank you for hosting – cute outfit! Â I am off to visit the others that have linked in. Â
I have linked in – I have posted pictures of myself on Friday's Frock on my blog, so forgive me not making an appearance on today's post. Â

Sorry I'm so late, Patti! It's been a busy weekend!
You look lovely in lace, and why give up the skirt if you still like it and wear it?
Patti, lace on you is anything but matronly! You wear it well. The scarf as a belt adds the perfect finishing touch.
Anything but matronly, I would say! I do have that exact concern with lace, and I usually try to toughen it up when I do indulge, but going full on feminine and soft with it, as you do here, really suits you admirably.Â
Thanks for hosting!
Love your lace top it looks great 🙂 thanks for hosting ..
Oh wooooow Patti, you look so fresh and young in this! Love it!!!
Patti you look gorgeous! This is one of my favourite looks on you.
Feminine and modern..not matronly at all!Â
Love that skirt – that olive shade is one of my favorites.Â
xo, A
What a gorgeous look! Â The lace top is absolutely perfect for you!
Hope you're having a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
It definitely does not skew matronly – it's fabulous!
I love lace on or with just about anything – and sheer stuff too. The only thing I automatically think of as matronly is sequins! But of course, even that is on a case by case basis. Meanwhile…you look lovely in lace and I enjoy your new Picasso as backdrop!
Loving the lace! I have a hint of it in today's post also 🙂
Hi Patty, you look lovely as always and what a cute drawing in the background!
The cut of that top is lovely and you really do suit lace! I don't think it works on me at all, but it looks lovely on you 🙂 x
ADORE the scarf as a belt, Patti! Shows off how tiny your waist is!!! Thanks for hostessing today. ~Sarah
Lace is one of my favourite fabrics. I love your lace top and you shouldn't get rid of that skirt – it's lovely! I think your unruly curly hair looks wonderful. My look this week is a bit of casual lace one too.
I love lace – such a good shade for you too.
Great!

Really love your lace top outfit and the shoes. Â Sigh, I cannot wear a heel of any height any more. Â I feel too tipsy. Â Thanks again for hosting Visible Monday.
I adore your hair with your lace top. It looks like the beautiful paintings from the 1600's.   I think you look great with a romantic look. Then with your smile it is gorgeous.
The lace blouse is really lovely with the full skirt. It shows off your shape beautifully. Sorry about the heat – I've been enjoying Isaac's cast off storms. We're just far enough to be getting downpours but nothing too severe.
Patti, glad your wearing what makes you happy. For me, it's been blues and greens this summer.
As always, thanks for hosting.
you look gorgeous in your summerly dress! silk and lace, the fabrics for a princess and you look like one.
I think the Picasso is straight. Yep.
Patti, you never look matronly. I really like this lace top, and the easy way you styled it.Â
The lace looks fine and you look like you're glowing!
Patti, I always enjoy your visible Monday post and the ladies who post. Â One day I would love to participate, but I haven't been able to get my posts up in time lately!
BTW…..I posted a special something on my blog for all ladies over 40, 50, 60 and beyond…a bit of encouragement featuring a beautiful over 65 woman. Â I hope you will take a look and enjoy!

The lace is really pretty. I like lace and appreciate seeing you style it. Thank you! -Marci
Hi Patti, so nice to see your smiling face. I love that olive skirt. My new color of obsession right now is green of the darker variety. 🙂
Lovely lace blouse! This is a great combo right down to the shoes.
Definitely NOT matronly Patti. You look quite sexy!
This looks fabulous on you…a great going out look!  The lace is so flattering…and  you don't look crooked  🙂
That's a great lace top! Have a great holiday!
I have a few hats that are worn more since I put them in the pre-donation pile than I ever did when they were newer!Â
Patti – lace really does suit you!!! I like it untucked from the skirt… I automatically tuck tops into midi skirts, but you've proved they do look good out! Love the Picasso too, his expression is one of bewilderment, heehee 😉
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
