A string or two of oversized pearls (similar) really does go with everything. Perfect with a LBD or business suit, or done casually like I did today. I do have one small strand of The Real Thing pearls, but I rarely wear them – they seem so precious. What am I waiting for?
Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post. |
Today I am super-visible in a brilliant red Coast sweater (similar) thrifted at the Molly Mutt for a few dollars. It’s a soft, lightweight knit and feels like heaven. And it’s labeled size XL, so never let a size stop you from trying on something fab. The pinstriped trousers (sim) are also from Molly’s, and I’m enjoying the slight-flare, slight-crop look. Old, old suede jacket (sim) that actually gets new life here, and old Aldo booties (sim) finish the look.
It’s fun and rewarding to shop your closet for the basics (trousers, boots, jacket) and add a new-to-you piece for variety. And I am loving all my good hair days, thanks to this Ellen Wille “Wiki” hairpiece. It looks like my real hair, only more!
Now, let’s see what’s in your closet, Visible Women.
The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple:
-
- Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.

Stay fabulous,
St72You,1u;ve got the right attitude. Cell phones are nothing more than mechanisms for Verizon, ATT, etc. to sell you games and ringtones. The insurance is the biggest ripoff of them all.How does this relate to housing? Umm…. every nickel adds up, and when the market is plummeting, cash is king.
Pearls! I LOVE pearls. And the lumpy pockets-full look, I am not unfamiliar with that. Hahaha! You look fantastic as usual. I’m glad you’re getting lots of use from your wig too. I have worn what I linked up before, including the blue wig as a hat, but not the full makeup, but I couldn’t help joining in. I’ve been loving all my wigs this week. Thanks, Patti.
wow you look fab!
Hi Patti.. It’s great to meet you! I love your blog and hope you don’t mind me adding a link to a recent post about a red coat.. I love your red top too! I’m not sure if I go the ‘technology’ and rules right so please don’t hesitate to let me know if I need to amend in any way.. x
Patti you look radiant in red! The hairpiece is so natural I can’t see why you’re even ‘fessing up to it. I love all sorts of pearls but do wear my real ones often – what are you waiting for? The lustre on them needs your body’s oil to keep the sheen, so you really need to wear them regularly to keep them in tip top condition. ( I sell jewellery in my gallery so this is fact not fiction). Thanks for the link up party x
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas!

I’m beginning to think I’m the only person who is so not fond of pearls, Patti 🙂 although I do enjoy seeing them on other women who pull them off beautifully, such as yourself. Especially with that red, like woah!!!
Thank you for the link-up Patti. This color combination of blue and red looks fabulous and I love how you added just the right touch of white with the pearls to create a nautical theme that is chic and effortless with cropped pants and jacket. xo, Sabina
You look incredibly chic, Patti – elegant and striking! Ready for all this festive season bring! 🙂
Love the red sweater, so striking with the pearls! I haven’t worn mine in awhile, but I’m thinking I’ll have to get them out again! 🙂
That’s a shrewd answer to a tricky quiteson
You look absolutely stunning with this pearl necklace and I love your hair like this Patti. Much love your way, Kirsten xx

I think the sweater, pearls and trousers look so nice and balanced together, the outfit does not need the jacket. I even think it could do without. As it is so lovely on its own.
So as far as I am concerned you have to be cold without the jacket. Fortunately it isn’t that cold in Florida haha.

Oooh! I love that red top with the maxi skirt. Very festive and sexy!

The Bam Bam pearls, as I like to call them, were on my Wish List for a long time until I bought a $1,000 strand at year’s end jewelry sale for $200. One of the best purchases I ever made.
Great outfit! Really enjot Not Dead Yet. StylePearls too small for me. Have new hat channelling Diane Keafon in Annie Hall (well I can dream). Happy Christmas everyone. Fiona
Hi Patti! I love this look on you. The pants are a fun length and look flattering and fresh. I’m not a pearl girl because I associate them so much with older librarian types but yours look really contemporary and stylish! You are making me re-think them!
Love those pearls, they have “oomph!”
I love pearls, they go with everything. The red sweater is gorgeous, the colour really suits you. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

Patti, love that top! Nice find. You look great in red btw. It is a color a lot of people are afraid to wear. But it is one of my favs, as you can see from my linkup!
And your new hair is very flattering on you. Thought it was your own.
Hope you have a wonderful, fun holiday. I know you’ll look smashing, whatever you do 🙂

The red is stunning on you Patti. Pearls never go out of fashion. They’re so flattering to the skin tone. I have a string that was my mother’s.
You’re rocking red! Definitely a colour you should wear more of.
The hair really is looking good. xxx
Gorgeous, Patti, Happy Christmas and thanks for your wonderful posts. xx

I’m sure Dalton would resign if he only got a minority this time, so at least we will be rid of him. Unless they can cut a deal to work with the NDP, we will likely have another election in a year or so.
Nice post. I learn something new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon everyday. It will always be exciting to read articles from other writers and use a little something from other websites.
I love the pearls, I think they are able to elevate almost anything from just casual to special. You look great in read

Red really does suit you beautifully, Patti! Old favourites and new-to-you additions are the perfect combination.
We have loads of vintage (faux) pearl necklaces in our charity shop and they always sell well, they’re just so classic. xxx
So beautiful in red and pearls!! Merry Christmas week you gorgeous and sweet lady!!
You are absolutely right, some strands of pearls can take a gal just about anywhere with any attire. We must have been thinking along the same path today.
Pearls, yes, I love pearls! Especially when worn with something modern and casual. And that’s a great necklace you have.
You look great in red, Patti! Thanks for the link up…have a wonderful week!
Yes, I so agree about the pearls! When I turned 50, I went pearl crazy and bought three sets. I especially love to wear them with jeans.
Yes, pearls are fantastic with everything! I love your double strand of oversized pearls. The red sweater is fantastic. I love how the whole outfit came together. And great reminder about not going by the size on the label…
Thanks for the link up & have a wonderful week!

Hey, I’m the first one in the pool! The pearls look lovely. Are those the real ones? Wow, if not, you should be wearing them, like maybe everyday. What a treat. And that red top is cut so pretty. You look swell. Now, tell me about your hair addition. How does that work? My hair has always been thin and fine. But boy, oh boy, pretty soon it may just disappear all together…yikes.
The great hair is mine, because I bought it! But srsly, it’s a full wig from Ellen Wille. I have a couple others, but this one looks most like my own hair, which is also thinning : < the pearls are fakes, yay! xo
