I’ve had a tux jacket on my wish list for ages. Not too masculine, good quality, no frills. Eureka – while sorting clothes at the Molly Mutt Thrift shop where I volunteer, I found a fabulous one, for $10 with my discount. Search over.
A tux jacket on a woman is a favorite look:
|Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.|
This jacket is by Trina Turk, one of my favorite designers. She made my fab Goddess Skirt. The jacket fits perfectly, has a single button, which I love for creating a waistline, hits at the hip, and the collar is as shiny as I could have dreamed of. I can’t wait to wear it with my jeans for date nights.
Here I chose to wear my new jacket over a vibrant Karina Tracy knit dress. I love how the jacket gives the straight shift a curvy look. My Suzanne Carillo-created necklace and very old, but beloved, Sofft booties finish it up. Hooray for thrifting; so long as you have patience, the treasures will appear.
The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple:

I am sure you will have lots of fun with this jacket. It looks wonderful. I have one myself, come again, I have a black one and a white one (lucky me) which are longer. So I cannot wear them on a dress like you do so well. But indeed on jeans they are great.
Love the black blazer especially with the Karina print on you Patti! Love it.
Enjoy the weekend.
Thank you for linking up with Turning Heads tuesday!

Love the jacket, so fabulous! Gorgeous outfit.
That’s so bizarre, I was chatting to my friends earlier about how we all wore over-sized 1950s men’s dinner jackets in the 1980s and there you are doing it at lot better 30 years later! xxx
I want to whisk you out for a cocktail wearing that tux, Patti! I’m soooo jealous! That’s a great find. I never find pieces like that, sob, sob. Never mind, I do find some great jewellery so not all bad!
Hi Patti, I just thought I’d join you with my tux on your link up today. I love your feminine styling with that floral dress and those cheeky little booties – you look cute as ever! Thank you for the opportunity to take part in your link up party x
Very nice Patti! I love the one button jacket and the fit is perfect on you. With the dress and booties, love the look. I thrift on-line and yes, one needs time and patience, but its worth it!
What a fabulous jacket. I like tuxedo jackets paired with jeans too. It gives it a nice edgy vibe. Great find!

Oh yes, I feel the same about a tux, so elegant, chic and feminine. You look absolutely beautiful Patti. I need one too for sure. Love, Kirsten xx
That tux jacket is so elegant. Ms Dietrich would be proud! Love the way it looks over that Karina dress, which is in a most stunning floral print.
I own a couple of tux blazers and love them. Actually my black one is very similar to yours. I must try it over a pretty floral dress.
Happy April Patti. =)
Can never go wrong with a tux blazer and I am so twinning with you on that on what I’m wearing this week at the blog – Have a lovely Monday!!!
That jacket is beautiful on you. I love that kind of jackets when its not worn on a simular pants.
This is a gorgeous mix! Thrilled you were able to cross such a great find off your wishlist. I have a black polka dotted tuxedo jacket I simply love wearing with jeans. Looking forward to seeing more of this jacket in the future.

I confess I don’t have a tux jacket! I would wear one though. Yours is smashing xx
Patience did pay off…that is a perfect tux jacket and the price…wow! I love it paired with the floral dress, such a great mix of masculine/feminine.
I always look forward to join you.
Looking fabulous, dear patti
Beautiful tuxedo jacket, I have a similar one that I’ve had for years and love wearing it. I love how it adds a mix of subtle masculinity to a feminine dress.
Thank you for hosting and hope you are having a fab week!
Hope to see you Thursday for TBT Fashion link up.
Aw, who doesn’t love a tux jacket! You look fabulous as always, Patti! Great to find those classics at the thrift store, too – score! Thank you for hosting!
What a great find, such a chic jacket to pull the look together! Thanks for hosting:)
You are right, one needs to have patience when thrifting but then something like this comes along and it feels a bit like you’ve won the lottery.
I’ve decided that regular shopping is just to boring for me now. Thrifting, vintage or consignment is more challenging and more rewarding.
Will be linking up tomorrow : )
A tux jacket has been on my list, too, Patti…I finally found one on EBay last year!
You look fabulous in yours!
Great look … I love me a black jacket and that tuxedo one is gorgeous.. Thanks for hosting.
Beautiful and elegant look, Patty! Love the dress, what a lovely print!
woo-hoo, very cool, Patti. You are one smart dresser. Big flowers are the best.
I love a great black jacket and I love Trina Turk! What a fab find, love it on you – its so flattering! Well done again!
Love the booties. Trying to get back in the blogging game!
I love your jacket, Patti! And it looks great styled with your dress and booties, I would never have thought to do it. By coincidence I was wearing my “anti-tux” suit, a Nuage design, a new take on the tux. It’s meeeelting! Thanks for the party. Drinks after at my house.
Love the look!
I love tux jackets too and I love how you paired yours!
I love a great tuxedo jacket, Patti! Thanks for the link up!
Very elegant, and the jacket will work brilliantly with jeans or silk trousers ( for summer). What a bargain!
Oh my word, just when I thought I didn’t need another jacket! This looks great and now I need another jacket! What a wonderful find and perfectly styled with the floral dress. 🙂
So sophisticated and chic!! Love it!!
Super chic on you, Patti! I have to say, I’m about ready to volunteer at our local thrift store this summer! Your finds are amazing!! 😀
Thanks for hosting!
Great jacket! I love it paired with the dress! Great necklace, too!
I also love the tux look on a woman & would even go the entire suit! I used to have one but for some reason I gave it away many years ago, of course now I totally regret that & am desperate to find another. Well done on your jacket Patti, I have to say that volunteer job has some pretty awesome perks 😉
I’ve never thought about a tux, but it looks great on you! I may have to look for one of my own! And it does look great with the dress, although I can’t wait to see it with the jeans. 🙂
Great jacket Patti! I think everyone needs one, such a versatile piece that can work in a formal as well as a casual outfit 🙂 you look fantastic 🙂 xxx Beata
I do agree with Lisa! Such a classy piece and I love how you paired it with your floral dress, Patti!

Yes Patti, you most definitely have a gem of a jacket. Very nice. And I must say – I’m jealous. I’ve been searching for a really good jacket for years!
Patti, you look super stylish in your tuxedo jacket. It’s a perfect staple for the wardrobe and works all year round. I love how you’ve styled it with your dress xxx
I love a good tux jacket; it is my go-to when I can’t decide WHAT to wear! They always look right. Yours is super. xx
Very fancy 🙂 I don’t have a tux jacket, but a blazer that is somewhat similar which I love to wear. The flower print of your dress is gorgeous and I like the combination with the ankle booties. Looking smashing with that side smile 🙂
Have a great week!
