I know, “remix” is a fancy fashion word for “wear it again,” but I like the sound of it. Like we are some badass rappers, remixing our tracks. That’s us over-40 women, grooving to the music and the potential art in our closets. I’m remixing two favorite, thrifted pieces today and feeling good.

Always room in my closet for a striped skirt:
You’ve seen my Trina Turk tuxedo jacket (similar) before (pic) and I try to remix it on the regular. Usually with a casual vibe, but today with a silk skirt by Ralph Lauren (similar), thrifted in Toronto with the most excellent Suzanne. The skirt is versatile, like the tux jacket, and I’ve worn it with tank tops as well as chambray shirts.

I’m trying to show off the satin lapels, but it’s hard to see. Great old thrifted 1960’s necklace (sim), picked up in the East Village years ago.

I like the wordage of remix—because of course we have to wear items over and over, but it’s even better to mix them differently instead of falling into ruts!!

Xiao Zhu: Thank you for asking. There was a disturbance in a neorhboughiod street. Everything is back to normal. I had a five-hour sleep which is considered a daily minimum in the short-term.
