Today I dared to wear flared crop jeans (similar). These were found at a consignment store for about $8, so I decided to risk it. I do like the length and the funky feel, but I’m not crazy for the white cord drawstring. I can replace it, yes?

Welcome to Visible Monday #167. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

I think these trousers look best with no skin showing below the hemline. So I chose my thrifted Donald J. Pliner boots (sim) for my footwear. The cobalt blouse (sim) is another consignment find; it’s by Vince, all silk and super comfortable. The tag advises to dry clean only but I say pfffftttt to that and hand wash it. This is a great casual outfit for my daily routine: singing, biking, working at the thrift, and watching Jessica Jones on Netflix.  : >

Flared crop jeans with blazer

The addition of a navy boyfriend blazer (sim) gives flared crop jeans a more polished look. I shall have the name-brand wine now. The white string will have to go. Keeping the jeans, though.

  1. Great outfit! I love all the gems you find at thrift stores! I think the jeans will be perfect without the string. I like them with the boots, and I bet you could play with different shoes, too. And the blue shirt looks stunning on you! What a find!

  2. Yeah, ditch that cord, love the pants. You have great shooties too where you could flash some ankle maybe? I love the casual feel with tailored bits. Blue always looks great on you too. Drycleaning? What’s that? – says the woman who just disintegrated a gown with handwashing. But I would not have drycleaned it either.

  3. Patti, this is real cool and soooo beautiful what you are wearing. Have no words. Today you are taking my breath away xxx Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! We are totally in the festive mood and hitting the Christmas market which you would really like ….Sabina | Oceanblue Style

  4. Cropped pants get no love from me – they would highlight my already short body. You have carried them off with aplomb.

    Thank you again for hosting!

  5. They look great with boots and the jacket is fabulous.
I never use a dry cleaner, everything goes in the machine here! xxx

  6. The jeans look cool with your boots, Patti, and the varying shades of blue suit you so well.
I never go to the dry cleaners, I have found most things can be washed if you are gentle and careful with them! xxx

  7. There’s something about the kick flare jean and boots that scares me. You absolutely rock it though! I love the jackets long length too. And can i just say, your hair is looking extra fabulous!XX

  9. I really like how you styled your cute cropped jeans – so cute with your boots! Enjoy your wine and have a wonderful week.

  10. I’m the same about the drawstring. Odd that they chose white – a dyed blue would’ve been better but nonetheless they do look good on you. I love the vividness of the colbalt blue (one of my favourite colours) and you’ve nailed the casual yet stylish vibe to a T!
I’m always nervous about handwashing dry clean items but it’s such a pain having to take them everytime so I do brave it and so far, no disasters (touch wood!).

  11. You’re fearless, I love how you give new things a try. I always hand wash dry-clean items too! Usually works out okay, only a few disasters… x

  12. These cropped pants and boots work so well on you. The long line jacket and shirt , the perfect finishing touches. I must admit I always hand wash and ignore the dry clean labels. I agree the white cord must go.

  13. Patti these jeans work really well with your boots and I do like the jacket as a finishing touch. I’m with you on that Dry Cleaning label. I think if you’re doing a cool handwash is has just the same results. Thank you for the link up party x

  14. I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s both equally educative
and amusing, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
The problem is something that not enough folks are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy I found this in my search for something concerning this.

  15. Those denim flares are awesome Patti. You stylish woman.

Hope you had the loveliest Thanksgiving! <3 Ada.

  16. I agree…that white string is annoying! LOL

I concur with your choice to wear these jeans with boots. I must say the pants look much better on you than when I tried to style denim culottes on myself. Granted, mine were much shorter. I wonder if this length might have worked for me…

Love the turned up collar. Très chic baby!

    bisous

  17. Yay, good for you for hand-washing your silk. Most natural fabrics can be washed by hand – I just washed a “dry clean only” vintage mohair skirt with a little shampoo and it came out beautifully!

Thanks so much for hosting “Visible Monday”, Patti! You are rockin’ these trousers (definitely swap out that drawstring!).

  18. I think they look great with those boots! I agree, no leg showing below the leg and the white string does need to go 🙂 Have a great week!

  19. You’re a brave woman, hand washing dry-clean only garments… Well, I’ve done the same, with varying results. These days I mostly try to avoid clothes that must be dry-cleaned, which is a pity as silk shirts are so lovely. You look lovely, too, as usual. And yes, the white string has to go.
