I told you I’d slavishly follow along with the stripey trend! (ha! I love everything stripes, and always will) ☺ .
It was freakishly cold today in Florida so when I went outdoors I had to add a scarf and jacket to this outfit. I’m wearing a favorite Banana Republic black knit dress (similar) under a Romeo and Juliet Couture striped sweater (15 Dollar Store – similar). I really, really like this silhouette, even though it ignores the waist. It feels a little vintage 1920’s, when women were getting out of their corsets and eating more mac and cheese. (OK, that’s what I had at lunch).
I’m feeling this 20’s vibe. Source. |
A thrifted bangle and my Tsubo booties (similar) were my only accessories. And the orange kicking cat, now subdued.
Have a wonderful, warm Thursday!

Golly I love that top. That is truly unique and very now…
Yes! I think we will, like the 40's inspired dresses after the movie "Pearl Harbor".
yes I am sure you are right. I think I was justifying my own delicious, high-fat lunch : >
Patti, that top has a great flow to it that actually implies curves and elongation at the same time. It's also very elegant!

The top you are wearing has a trullu Art nouveau feel to it. I also love the glamour of 20s/30s and I see it's the inspiration for many bloggers out there.Keep warm and the cold winds will go away soon.
I'm not sure about the mac & cheese part… I thought they were going for a boyish figure?
I love the bold stripes and nod to the 1920's silhouette – the flapper look is one of my all time favourites.
I love anything and everything that has to do with a 1920's vibe. What a brilliant way to modernize this style. I ablsolutely love that sweater. I'm wondering after "The Great Gatsby" is released in theatres if we might see some 1920's styles come into fashion. (wishful thinking).
I love the stripey, slouchy "trend" on you. And you look good in Mac N Cheese!
I bet your cold weather was the equivalent of a freakishly hot English summer's day!
Love this take on the 1920s flapper look, something loads of women fear but somehow seems to suit lots of shapes and sizes. x
well, it was 48 degrees when I got up! : o
is there any food better than mac and cheese when it's a little chilly out there?
ah, danged boobs — two words I've never spoken in the same sentence : >
I love this top, Patti! it has such a great feel to it…super stylish!
Perfectly comfortable! It's cold here in San Diego as well .. lucky for me I'm heading to the desert on Friday afternoon for the weekend .. 80 degrees !!

Hahahaha, I don't want to hear it. It was probably like 50 degrees! Try Indiana, m'lady! I'm freezin' my squishy young behind right off! :-p
Oh! I love this too. I had mac'n'cheese for dinner last night. It is the best comfort food in cold weather. I agree with Sheila, I find that a difficult shape to rock, though I try from time to time.
That really is a cute flapper look!
Love the whole look and you pull it off beautifully. The simple bangle in such a great color is the perfect accessory, too. Wish we'd get a blast of cold weather just one more time!

Patti, this is an amazing look on you – it really looks wonderful. You look so long and willowy! I adore the 20s silhouette, but it so doesn't work on me (danged boobs) – I love seeing you play with this modern update!
The simple cuff and boots are perfect.
It was unexpectedly cold today!!! Very cute look– and I love stripes!!
Becky 🙂
