I love a shirt or sweater with a message, and I’ve collected a few of them, including “Petit Chien,” “Passenger” and “Bad Ass Blogger“. I avoid politics on my clothes, even though I am a strongly opinionated progressive, because I don’t want to get in arguments with strangers, or get a pie in the face. : >
Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post. |
Today I’m celebrating feeling free: free to speak up, to dress as we like, to break fashion “rules” and to sing loudly. Free is one of my favorite words – everybody loves a free lunch – but it also means unconstrained by unreasonable rules and restrictions. Like wearing graphic sweaters when you’re 61!
I bought this top retail (shock!) from Nordstrom (similar) – I do love their free shipping and returns – and paired it with a thrifted pencil skirt (sim). The skirt has a dark plaid that’s hard to see here. My booties are by funky brand Cydwoq (sim) and I’ve had them for years. Love the pointy toe.
Now, let’s see what’s in your closet, Visible Women.
The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple:
- Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
- Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post.
- Go to the bottom of this post and click on the InLinkz button “Add Your Link”. It should open a new page.
- In the “Next Step”, you crop the pic (easy tool) you want to display, and you’re done!
Oh hey! Not Dead Yet Style is on Instagram! Please check it out when you have a moment: Instagram.
Stay fabulous,
Great sweater Patti, and those boots are awesome!

Yes, graphical tees and sweaters are so fun. And I hear you about wearing your politics on your sleeve. I have an anti trump button I got at the woman’s march in NYC and sometimes get worried when I wear it on the one coat it is still on but so far that has not happened.

Ahhhh you truly are a free spirit, Patti, and you inspire me to be a lot less rigid, less tightly wound up 🙂 you do that rather often, actually, I just don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it 🙂
I luv your free spirit, Patti. Yes.
The message is great, but the boots are even better, Patti!!
And where in the heck did you get one that said “Bad Ass Blogger?” We all need that one!

What a fun and cute sweater! Love it! 🙂
Free spirit indeed Patti – how perfect for you. Sometimes it’s good to break our own rules and buy retail for a change. This sweater was worth it. I bet it looks great with jeans. The boots are fab too x

haha…but what if it was a lemon merengue pie? Thats delicious ;-)))) No I hear you. And bad ass blogger? Slays! I got 2 statement shirts I designed “Yes, I’m a fashion blogger” and one that rhymes in German. But in English it translates into something like: dare to be daring..
Love your “japanese” clean style. You know its my favorite on you. Wearing something in that direction as well today. xo Sabina
That’s a slogan that surely won’t offend anyone! Thanks for hosting x
Ah, Patti, you were “this” close to me.
From Suzanne’s post, it looks like you all had a fab time!
xxox
Um, this comment makes no sense because you don’t say anything here about your AZ Blogger Meetup. Oops. YOU knew, right?
I love that sweater and those booties! You look so fun and sassy! Have a great week! #thefierce50
Patti, perfect sentiment! Love the style and those boots are pretty fabulous as well.

I love graphic anything and this sweater is no exception…the message is awesome! I don’t usually get too political with my graphics outside of my HRC tees, but I do have a tee on the way that may or may not say “Nevertheless, she persisted…” 🙂

Fabulous graphic sweater. I thought it looked great from the front, but then when you turned around it became even better. It describes you perfectly.
Love the graphics on the sweater. The font is pretty and flowy. And the boots are soooo cute! Great outfit.
Excellent sweater and I like how you styled it!

What a beautiful sweater Patti! I want one.
I love this top, Patti, front and back. The whole thing is sweet and bad at the same time, in the best possible way. And the pointy toes are fantastic. Thanks for hosting this linkup.
Hejsan!
Patti, this sweater is so fabulous! It speaks volumes, for sure. And the ivory color is so stunning on you. I am loving it paired with a pencil skirt and those amazing boots!
