Thrifting Treasures! Happy, Happy Me

Yesterday was a very, very good thrifting day. As I was scanning the Goodwill in Chelsea, hoping for a nice wool sweater, I spotted a “new arrival”: a like-new genuine leather jacket with faux fur collar. My old pleather jacket was looking a bit ratty, the faux-sherpa lining getting dull and matted.

I snatched up this baby and fell in love right there in the Goodwill. “You’re coming home with me,” I whispered, and it did — right on my back! I donated the old jacket and haven’t taken this one off yet. And — the price was $25. Happy, happy thrifter! And thank you to anonymous woman who didn’t want her new leather jacket anymore.  ☺

At one of my favorite thrifts, Housing Authority on W 17th, I found this pristine little leather purse by Desmo. It’s the perfect bag for short trips around the city, much lighter than the big Coach tote I have been using.

My “new” Desmo bag is perfect for short jaunts – small and neat. And $12, oh yeah.

And – pictures forthcoming – my final score du jour was a pair of Donald J. Pliner nylon and leather boots. They were waiting for me at the Goodwill on W 8th Street. They are so fab, in great condition and under $20. Thank you again, lady-with-awesome-boots, for donating them.

Hope your October weekend is fantastic, whether thrifting, playing, recreating, or just enjoying the crisp cool air.

Note to readers: We had some technical problems at Not Dead Yet Style this past week, but all is well now. Big hugs to my IT guy, beloved husband and geek, for making it all better. xoxo

Visible Monday is on its “off” week this coming weekend, so we can recharge and refresh. ☺ We’ll be back on Monday, November 4th (actually, the Sunday evening
before)!
