Pleats, please, and a role model for aging. We usually think of pleats as a warm-weather style: light summer skirts and a breezy scarf. Pleats are sophisticated and can be worn year-round, though, in the best seasonal colors and textures. A pleated-hem wool skirt for example, looks fab with a slim cardigan.

This emerald green Endless Rose pleated blouse is rented from Nuuly. It’s a classic feminine look, with a deep neckline. The super-full pleated sleeves add a trendy touch. The fabric is a washable medium-weight polyester, and perfect for southern Winter. And the color is flattering on almost every skin tone.
The wide leg jeans by AGOLDE are also a Nuuly rental (If you want to try their clothing rental service, get $20 off your first order with this link). The jeans are totally versatile with this dark wash, and can be a bit dressy, as here, or any-day casual. The black chunky-heel pumps by Franco Sarto add detail to the dressed-up look. White sneakers work too. 😊

Thank you, Suzanne, for sharing the dire condition of the Australian fires. We can count on you to keep these sobering events about the planet in the forefront. We all can do something differently. xox
You always have such great things from Nuuly, you’re convincing me to try it! My new year’s resolution is to live more sustainably, and I think clothing rental counts, right? 😉

Hello Darlene, and thanks for coming over. Love, love your simple chic black-sweater outfit! xox
I’m wearing a pleated top today, too! I agree that teal looks good on so many complections. Thanks for the head’s up on the jeans. My nuuly rental this month is disappointing.
Hi Kim and thanks for linking up. I enjoyed your holiday outfits, and esp the wooly red sweater! xox
Hi Patti! I absolutely love those jeans! Love those whote chest hairs on Kitty. Grey pets are the best!
Hello Kristin and thanks for your kind words. Yeah the white chest hairs are so distinguished! Love your long dress, both ways. xox
I love this outfit, Patti! The color of the blouse is gorgeous and the wide legged jeans are spectacular! And there is something really special about a black cat! I have had many who looked just like Stinky and they always have the best personalities, don’t they?

Yes, the black cats are special! Thanks so much for coming over, and sharing the delightful (and stylish) Radical Ralphie! xox
I love that shade of green! So beautiful! I need to add a few colors to my closet this year as I tend to gravitate towards grey which is not always the best choice.

Hello Mireille and thanks for your kind words. Your red coat is a gorgeous way to do color! xox
Oh, Stinky is a Super Crone Cat! I do like that pleated blouse on you. And it just so happens I have a similar colored pleated fabric in deep stash waiting-to-be. Maybe this is a sign…
A Super Crone Cat! Love that – it’s going to be her new nickname. Thanks for linking up and sharing your goals, it’s inspiring, my friend. xox
I like the idea of clothes rental. Lovely emerald top. Dear Stinky – my own Molly is 16 now, no health problems yet, touch wood.
Aww, a scritch to Molly today. Thanks for coming over and linking up – your outfits looks pulled together and chic as always! xox
Happy New Year, Patti!
That emerald green really suits you and the sleeves are fab!
Stinky is gorgeous, she’s looking fabulous. Give her a cuddle from me. xxx
Hello Vix and it’s lovely to see you! Your New Years Day sounds wonderful – I love the planning of a trip; it gets all the juices flowing. Hugs to you, xox.
That blouse is pure elegance. I would feel like a princess.
How do you like the clothing rental system? Fodder for a future post? I haven’t tried it, but am conflicted. The idea of renting instead of buying seems good for some things (special occasions, maybe for work) and for those who need lots of change. Not sure about the environmental implications if there are deliveries and pickups several times a week.
Good morning, TOF and thanks for coming by. A happy New Year to you! I will write more about clothing rental in the future. For me, with a small, neutral wardrobe, the variety is the magic. I trade out six pieces once a month. xox
Hello, dear Patti! You are looking fabulous in this deep teal, a fave of mine too! I adore pleats all year round – this is a great reminder to wear my winter pleats!
Aw, dear Stinky! She is looking lovely – aw, the little white chest hairs! A gentle hug from me.
I love that blouse and the frayed hem on the jeans. You look fabulous!
