Pleats, Please, and A Role Model For Aging: Visible Monday

Pleats, please, and a role model for aging. We usually think of pleats as a warm-weather style: light summer skirts and a breezy scarf. Pleats are sophisticated and can be worn year-round, though, in the best seasonal colors and textures. A pleated-hem wool skirt for example, looks fab with a slim cardigan.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

This emerald green Endless Rose pleated blouse is rented from Nuuly. It’s a classic feminine look, with a deep neckline. The super-full pleated sleeves add a trendy touch. The fabric is a washable medium-weight polyester, and perfect for southern Winter. And the color is flattering on almost every skin tone.

Deep emerald looks rich against the yellow wall, the pale blue sky, and the dark denim jeans.

Now this kitty – she is Stinky, the Super-Cat. She’s 18+ years old, has arthritis, thyroid, and kidney disorders, and still chugs around with a happy outlook. She sleeps with me, snuggled against my legs. My hero for aging!

The wide leg jeans by AGOLDE are also a Nuuly rental (If you want to try their clothing rental service, get $20 off your first order with this link). The jeans are totally versatile with this dark wash, and can be a bit dressy, as here, or any-day casual. The black chunky-heel pumps by Franco Sarto add detail to the dressed-up look. White sneakers work too. 😊

Oh that face. Resting bitch face, aging be forgotten! I love her white chest hairs too. You can see my pleated sleeve got stretched out in this pose, but it shows how very full the sleeves are.

  8. That blouse is pure elegance. I would feel like a princess.
How do you like the clothing rental system? Fodder for a future post? I haven’t tried it, but am conflicted. The idea of renting instead of buying seems good for some things (special occasions, maybe for work) and for those who need lots of change. Not sure about the environmental implications if there are deliveries and pickups several times a week.

    • Good morning, TOF and thanks for coming by. A happy New Year to you! I will write more about clothing rental in the future. For me, with a small, neutral wardrobe, the variety is the magic. I trade out six pieces once a month. xox

  9. Hello, dear Patti! You are looking fabulous in this deep teal, a fave of mine too! I adore pleats all year round – this is a great reminder to wear my winter pleats!

Aw, dear Stinky! She is looking lovely – aw, the little white chest hairs! A gentle hug from me.

  10. Such a pretty blouse, I love the style and colour, great way to dress up jeans!

Wishing you all the best for 2020!
