Style Uniforms Are One Way To Chic: Visible Monday

Style uniforms are one way to chic. We’re not talking about a wearing a strict “uniform”, although lots of jobs call for them, and they have advantages! But having a handful of style uniforms makes getting dressed much easier. In this case “uniform” means a comfortable and chic combination of shapes and styles that make you feel great. 😊

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

One of my favorite style uniforms is a slim top – knit or woven – paired with a full over-the-knee skirt. I like the pieces to have personality, like this simple gray knit shirt – with a zebra. I’ve had it for ages, and I think I found it at J. Crew Factory. Other easy style uniforms can include: dark jeans with a graphic tee, a slim midi skirt with an over-sized top, or a knit tee dress.

Another gorgeous January day in Eastern coastal Florida. The “snow birds” are here in force.

The full black skirt (similar) is from Suzanne Carillo’s fab Etsy vintage shop. She had put it aside for me on one of my visits to Toronto, because she knew it “fit” me and my style. It’s great as a casual piece, like today, or dressier with a silk blouse and pointy flats. Thanks, Suzanne!

Floral Doc Martens boots, a gift from a friend, add color and texture.
I lightened the picture to show you the great details of the skirt. It has a steam-punk vibe that I love.

Are you wearing one of your style uniforms today, or a different but fabulous look? Show us (whatever you’re wearing) in the link-up!
