Oldies and goodies. I’m still in the process (never-ending?) of downsizing my closet. If I don’t love wearing them, and they don’t make me feel good, my clothes get re-donated. And then there are some pieces that have longevity and still make me smile after many years.
Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!
Speaking of oldies, this prairie/hippie/festival dress has been with me for at least six years. I found it at Citizen Rosebud‘s Etsy shop for about $35, and I’ve been looking for a duplicate. It’s long and loose, flatters my face, and because it’s vintage – probably 1980’s – it’s not going out of style. I wash it in the machine on cold and shake it out, and it looks as good as when I bought it.
Sandy bought me this pretty amethyst ring (sim) a few months ago. It lost one of its original pale purple side stones; I don’t know how or where. So I took it back to Luis, our local jeweler, and he suggested going with a whole ‘nother color for the sides. Success:
Are you still wearing some oldies but goodies? No wrong answers, of course. Show us in the link-up!

Thank you Jill for the kind words and for linking up. Your bright orange sweater is a pop of joyful color, and you look marvelous! xox
Well they do say that if you hang on to something for long enough it comes back into fashion and your dress is certainly right up to the minute, long and floaty, small flower print et al. (I’ve got a few clothes in my wardrobe that I’ve had for over half a century!)
Here in Blighty we don’t have to worry too much about keeping cool – usually quite the reverse! But we have had a good summer this year and it has been a joy to wear light clothing and not have to carry a woolly and an umbrella.
Hello, Miss C and thanks for coming over! Love your maxi chambray dress, and yes I will swap weather with you for a couple of days : > xox
Oodles of oldies in my closet! And I’m trying to be good and not buy but only sew new stuff from my fabric stash. But can’t sew Fluevogs, now can I? Hahahahahaha.
Patti — I have a partner for your 90’s dress languishing in my closet! Print is black with peachy/beige/rust/olive flowers. Too small for me, perfect for you! Email me!
You’re a great steward of clothing, Anne! And yeah, a pass for Fluevogs, naturally. I am sending you an email, thanks! xox
Boho style looks great on you! I love the sunglasses too with this look. Those sandals look great and so comfy. It does seem like a never ending process cleaning out the closet, I do it each Season.

Thank you for coming over and sharing your great look – that striped dress does not resemble a deck chair! and it looks beautiful on you. xox
What a beautiful ring. I tend to go through my wardrobe at the end of each season. Some items you just know won’t be worn again. I’m so careful though as Iβve thrown things out in the past and really regretted it! I love your dress, now, I would hang on to that too! Would look great with ankle boots.
Alison xx
Good morning, Alison. Thanks for the kind words. I agree that a thoughtful closet cleaning is the way to go, xox.
I’ve been working on the same thing with my closet. I have some older pieces that I still love and I am also taking a hard look at some things that I have that I just don’t love so I am donating them! And making new outfits out of my closet too in the process.

This is the right week, with the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, to wear items of a “hippie vibe.” I’ve been wearing a peace symbol necklace every day.
Good point, Ally. Although you and I weren’t there, there’s a bit of Woodstock in all of us. I love it that you’re wearing the peace sign, xox.
This dress is definitely a keeper, Patti

Oh absolutely. I wear oldies all the time. We may be bloggers and influencers but we cannot just buy and buy the newest thing. Classics are always classics π
