Oldies And Goodies: Visible Monday

Oldies and goodies. I’m still in the process (never-ending?) of downsizing my closet. If I don’t love wearing them, and they don’t make me feel good, my clothes get re-donated. And then there are some pieces that have longevity and still make me smile after many years.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

Speaking of oldies, this prairie/hippie/festival dress has been with me for at least six years. I found it at Citizen Rosebud‘s Etsy shop for about $35, and I’ve been looking for a duplicate. It’s long and loose, flatters my face, and because it’s vintage – probably 1980’s – it’s not going out of style. I wash it in the machine on cold and shake it out, and it looks as good as when I bought it.

I piled on the necklaces today for a fun bohemian look. A floppy sun hat and wedge sandals (similar) carry through the Old Hippie vibe.
The pelicans, gulls, and hawks are always nearby. Hey birds, stay fabulous.

Sandy bought me this pretty amethyst ring (sim) a few months ago. It lost one of its original pale purple side stones; I don’t know how or where. So I took it back to Luis, our local jeweler, and he suggested going with a whole ‘nother color for the sides. Success:

I’m crazy about the brilliant turquoise accents against the soft purple stone.

Are you still wearing some oldies but goodies? No wrong answers, of course. Show us in the link-up!

  1. Well they do say that if you hang on to something for long enough it comes back into fashion and your dress is certainly right up to the minute, long and floaty, small flower print et al. (I’ve got a few clothes in my wardrobe that I’ve had for over half a century!)
Here in Blighty we don’t have to worry too much about keeping cool – usually quite the reverse! But we have had a good summer this year and it has been a joy to wear light clothing and not have to carry a woolly and an umbrella.

    • Hello, Miss C and thanks for coming over! Love your maxi chambray dress, and yes I will swap weather with you for a couple of days : > xox

  5. What a beautiful ring. I tend to go through my wardrobe at the end of each season. Some items you just know won’t be worn again. I’m so careful though as I’ve thrown things out in the past and really regretted it! I love your dress, now, I would hang on to that too! Would look great with ankle boots.
