How To Rock A (Big) Black Dress: Visible Monday

How to rock a (big) black dress. It’s fashion canon that every woman needs a little black dress. I own more than one, and love to wear them even in my super-casual life style. A black knit or linen dress is perfect for everyday, with sneakers and a cute hat. And of course, nothing is easier than a slim black dress for evening (for me, “evening” is more like Netflix and jammies), with a sparkly necklace and shimmery hose.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

One of my black dresses is actually a B-I-G black dress, a textured knit that was gifted to me by Eva Trends. Yeah, it’s over-sized but it fits nicely at the neck and shoulder. Style tip: if you want to go over-sized, get a good fit at the shoulders. This big black dress is fun to swirl around in, with pockets and side-ties that bring the hem up and down.

I just read that form-fitting styles are back “in” for Spring/Summer, but we don’t worry about what’s in and out, do we? Some days it’s fun to wear a flowy and expansive piece. Have a slice of pie and a cappuccino for dessert.

The new hairdo is the Mileena wig by Outre. This pic is taken right out of the box. I plan to trim and thin the hair, but I love the shape and the waves.

Over-exposed so you can see the texture of the dress and the side ties. A thrifted leopard chiffon scarf and a gold-tone pendant are simple accessories, and the funky boots (old and well-loved) are 100% my style. 😊
