I love lace-with-something-else. A lace tee with boyfriend jeans, a lace skirt with a graphic tee. Lacy tights with oxfords. I enjoy the juxtaposition of traditionally feminine lace plus modern pieces.

The sleeveless grey dress here (similar) is one of my summer favorites. It’s by a new-to-me brand, Mado Et Les Autres. I found it at our Molly Mutt thrift and fell for the ruffled skirt and perfect knee length. I have so many lightweight tops that can be worn over the dress, to make fresh looks. Today I chose a vintage-style lace tank (sim) and I think it goes, if not “matches”.
Now, let’s see what’s in your closet, Visible Women.

The lace top layered over the dark grey dress looks fantastic! Thanks for hosting!
Lovely look Patti, this top is gorgeous and the skirt of a very nice shape
Adore the lacy top. 11 months of summer out here in San Diego!
It goes really well, Patti! I enjoy the whole look, and what a coincidence – I also played with lace last week. 🙂
This sleeveless gray dress looks gorgeous on you. I love the way you styled it.
P.S. I am organizing a link up on my blog, feel free to join.
That dress is all kinds of fabulous…you could do so much with it!
Thank you for hosting Patti. That black and beige(?) color makes for a very classy yet a bit edgy mix because of the pattern. I got a vintage lace skirt a while ago at a store in Berlin and love wearing it with any kind of top. Its fun…Wishing you a lovely week. Weather of here is just plain awful. Very humid. But things are looking up for next week 🙂 xo Sabina
So pretty! Love the combination!
lovely layering for a hot day, it looks fresh and comfy and also very elegant!
such a nice idea!
I totally get that juxtaposing thing, hard/soft, feminine/masculine, lacy/bold. This combo looks great, and I sense a ’20s vibe. Niiiice. Thanks for the linkup, Patti.
I can’t believe how beautiful your ensemble is, Patti. So 1920s. What is the underdress fabric? I luv it all!
It’s a very lightweight cotton – washable and almost-sheer. xo
That’s so pretty on you! I love the blue wedges you wore, a quirky touch! xxx
I love a versatile piece like this one! You styled it so beautifully with that gorgeous top! Thank for the link up!
Wow, you made the lace layering look so stylish. I have to try that!
This is such a beautiful dress, I am always at attention -when I see lace. You look beautiful!!
That crochet sort of scalloped tank top is very pretty, Patti.
I love this Patti! You know I am a lace fan and I have a dress Im planning to share soon. I love the tank over your dress! I have the same one.. Love the layering and your pretty sandals!
Have a great week!
Patti, this is a stunning and unique combination! I love it!
I love that lacy top. You wore that when you were here.
Beautiful layered look! Once again you are giving me ideas… I have a similar lace top and have never considered wearing it over a dress.
I love lace!!!!! Gorgeous!!! The pink tulle looking skirt in the Visible pieces, too!!!
Dear Patti, such a joy to be with you every Monday
Much love, dear friend
Your lace top is so pretty! The next three months here are my favorite with our best weather of the year. Then the snow starts flying! Yikes! Peace!
I love lace, recently bought a stunning top from Spain, and I love wearing it – it’s a real statement piece. Jacqui
I would have never thought to put that top over a dress! It works perfectly!
I think this lace suits you very well. The dress might be beautiful, but this top is gorgeous. What a piece of art.
Joined you again for Visible Monday. I am having a few days off work, so more time…
The lace top is perfect over your dark toned dress. Enjoy that sea breeeze and many thanks for hosting Visible Monday.
You look gorgeous in this outfit. I love the blue pop of color with the sandals that even have a heel! They are stunning!
I love this look, Patti! I love lace even though I own very little. And I can’t wait to see what other ways you’ll style this dress…
Thanks for the link up & have a great week!
I LOVE LACE! A very romantic look, definitely one of my favourites too!
Adding this tank over the dress is such brilliance, Patti!! It seriously looks like the dress was made this way!!
The lace top and dress go beautifully together, Patti – the light lace over a dark dress is a perfect combo…!

Very fabulous and perfect for warm days. You look fantastic and I look forward to seeing more of your styling genius with this dress. Thanks for the link up.
Lace top is so pretty!!
What a great outfit! Sort of 1920’s flapper style, very ‘Great Gatsby’.
The lace top is beautiful! I love it over a darker dress like this; it allows the lace to really show up. Gorgeous! xx
Funny thing, I just started appreciating lace this year. And I agree, with jeans-I actually am wearing it with some pretty distressed jeans today.
