This pretty vintage 1980’s dress (similar) is an old favorite. I’ve worn it with a blazer, a long pullover and of course on its own in Florida Spring/Summer/Fall. I love the way it flows over me, and the open neckline is wonderful for accessorizing.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

Today I tried a different topper, a thrifted velvet shrug (sim) that picks up the warm olive in the dress. I like the look, and the double strand of faux pearls (sim) is perfect for dinner out with my husband.

The vintage cuff (sim) is from Citizen Rosebud‘s shop. Below, I’m always grateful to have a view of the sea. Thrifted cone-heel platforms (sim) look just right for a 70 degree day. And my hair is the Wiki by Elle Wille. I’ve lost a lot of hair following my wrist trauma and surgery; I believe it will mostly come back!

Now, let’s see what’s in your closet, Visible Women.

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple:

  1. That velvet shrug is one of the best thrift finds ever. Love that. And I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it. Really pretty on you.

  2. You look absolutely beautiful Patti!! Such a pretty dress, and paired with the velvet shrug, pearls and these shoes – what a gorgeous ensemble, elegant and fun!

  3. I love the warm volors of this tiny print and shrug. The little cat figurine goes well too!:-)

  4. This looks like a really comfortable yet stylish outfit Patti made all the more glamorous by that pretty velvet bolero. I love the colour of it and can bet the earth tone will be so useful in your A/W wardrobe. Thank you for adding the info about hair loss – so useful for those of us who are affected. (I’ve noticed a thinning in one area so am very appreciative of the medical insight.)
Thanks for the link up party again!
    Anna x

  5. You look divine in this outfit. I love the olive color and the velvet texture of shrug. The maxi dress goes so well with it! Thank you for the link up, Patti.

  6. What a fabulous dress, Patti! I love how you combined it with the shrug, faux pearls and vintage cuff. This is just perfect! Oh, how I envy you living near the sea! xxx

  7. I love that you’re showing us your view off your balcony! I always am nosy about everyone’s surroundings and am so looking forward to seeing your NYC digs!

  8. I love the warm colours of this dress paired with the velvet. Very boho.

I often think about when we lived in Victoria and had a view of the ocean. I miss that place terribly!

  9. Oh wow! That velvet shrug is fabulous! That is a piece many women would love to have right now with velvet trending so much! So pretty!

  10. Such a great look and your hair is gorgeous! I am looking to replace my “phony pony” its a hairpiece that creates a messy bun. They no longer carry it where I bought mine in the past. do you have a tip where I can find one?

    • thanks Jodie – no, it’s synthetic and very soft, and holds the curls through washings. xo

  11. Gorgeous vintage dress, looks fresh and on point, like it is this seasons! Also love the velvet shrug! I am sorry about your hair loss. I do think it will come back in too. Trauma can do so many bad things to a body… take good care, sending healing thoughts, and admiring too the view!

  12. Patti, your velvet shrug and chunky pearls give the vintage dress a modern makeover that is fresh and fun. This is a wonderful combination and you are looking fabulous. Thank you for the link up and I hope that you have a wonderful week to come.

  13. I LOVE a versatile maxi dress like that! I’m on the hunt for the right one with long sleeves (for my weather) but I’ve not found the right one yet. xx
