Welcome to Visible Monday #52! If you want to participate, it’s so
easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the simple how-to.
I try to find an excuse to wear my blue suede shoes on any given day, even when they don’t “match”. One of the best lessons I’ve taken away from the TV show What Not To Wear is: “It doesn’t have to match, it just has to go.”
So I chose a newly-thrifted Ralph Lauren knit dress and added a boho-vibe cotton scarf to pull in some blue. Then I felt happy about wearing my blue suede platforms. I’m wearing delicate drop earrings and my WendyB “G” ring, and a big goofy smile.
I look pretty happy here, and visible too. The hairdo could use a little polishing but the humidity’s been about 110%! |
Sandals by Sofft, a very comfortable brand. |
Now, let’s see what you’re wearing, Visible Women!!

You always look lovely. You know what that dress just reminds me of a maternity wrap dress that I thrifted in Colorado a year ago. It looks something like this. 🙂 Love your shoes!!!!! 🙂Â

Cute dress!! You can never go wrong with a great black and white print!
I love that dress!
Patti, I think your hair look lovely!
It's hot there but you still look radiant! How do you do it? I wilt, but if the weather here stays as it has been, I won't have to worry about heat. I love your blue shoes and the scarf with this outfit. They definitely "go"!
You can wear those gorgeous blue shoes any time you want, and I will love them. Â The knit dress is a beauty!
Thanks for hosting this link-up. I love that I can see 43 super chic looks in one spot. Â I didn't participate this week, but I just wanted to leave a note to let you know how inspired I am by some of the outfits here. Â
You look lovely! And gorgeous, cobalt blue shoes go with everything!

Those sandals would happily "go" with everything I owned if I had a say so. They're the best shade of blue and totally play off that graphic print. I wish I had a smile as radiant as yours!
Ooh Patty, these shoes are so striking! I love them! The contrast between the monochrome and blue is beautiful!
I am in love with those shoes. You must have learned the "go" lesson well because you're one of the best color and pattern mixers I know. Fearless! I think the scarf brings a nice balance to the b/w and the bright blue.
 lol!
The dress is really cute but if I saw you on the street, I would have to slip a bag over your head and steal the shoes!
What a great thrifted find and I love the print mixing! You look fabulous!
Hey, don't ya know, "anything goes!"
There's just something about blue suede shoes… I couldn't live without mine! Your dress is so beautiful, I'm inspired to find myself a black and white dress too. If I get one I'll remember to tell where I got the inspiration from!
Your joy beams from my monitor! I'd say it's a happy combination!
Matching is in the eye of the wearer.
Your outfit is great, your scarf match your shoes, you look great today!
i love your shoes, and they definitely "go"! and your smile is beautiful…it's your best accessory!
This has been a hard lesson for me to learn, since I'm the matchy-matchy type, but I'm getting better.
Your scarf "goes" just perfect with your dress.
You look so happy that the outfit comes second! You are so lucky with your thrift find as you love wearing this kind of dresses. And don't care about the shoes, they basicaly match all colors.
Very cute dress – and love your blue suede comfy shoes!
Such to see! I love the go- the blue suede shoes, the great print of a dress and the glorious scarf. Oh and the Wendy B ring. Gah, I want!
Love your new dress, you look great 🙂
Oh I want those shoes and the "go" with anything.
LOVE those shoes! And they do look like they would be comfortable, which for me, these days, is the most important thing.
ooh, I like the blue shoes with this black and white pattern. I hope to contribute a post some time on Monday.
Hi Patti,
So happy to be greeted by your beautiful smile as I enter this blog. You always look so happy. 🙂Â
I am really digging your shoes! The colour is amazing!

Not having to match has been one of the most freeing aspects of following great style bloggers 🙂 I just wish I'd known this three decades ago! Love those blue shoes, girl!
LOVE the outfit!! Those shoes are amazing!!
That's my mantra–it doesn't have to match it just has to go!!
I'm finding myself drawn to black and white prints alot recently -I guess cuz they are so versatile.
Hi Patti! This all works together very nicely with a dash of unexpected. There is an art to it for sure, something us bloggers all appreciate. Love those Soffffft shoes!
Patti, I love working in a shoe that I can't get enough of. Many times my outfits start with a shoe and I work from there. This is a great look and a great dress and I love your blue suede shoes. They are definitely good enough for Elvis! 🙂
Hi Gorgeous!
Looking good and i love those sandals, I know the brand very comfortable indeed
Arianexxxx
Thats a very cute and comfortable looking dress
Great look…and it definitely "goes!!" Â
Love the dress!! Â And right now the Ralph Lauren and Lauren brands have a few things on summer clearance… dresses that did not sell in the spring. Â I just ordered a Lauren blouse that was on sale…. go get 'em ladies!
I think with any black and white ensemble, a bold pop of color "goes" beautifully. I think it would work even without the scarf. But either way you look great!
Patti, you always look happy. Â I think those shoes look great with the dress. Â I love matchy match and I love a more eclectic look too.
I would agree as long as match doesn't mean "must be matchy-matchy." Items can complement one another without having to match exactly.
