Welcome to Visible Monday #43! If you want to participate, it’s so
easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the simple
how-to.
On mornings when I want quick-and-easy wardrobing, I often choose this black knit dress and throw something over it. (I wish I had invented the black knit dress!). I add a little jewelry, and shoes with personality, and that’s it. Am I lazy or “dressing like a French woman”? Don’t answer that, please.
I love the colors in this tank top. All shades of olive are good for me. And I really like the drape. I’m looking for more pieces with this cut; it’s so much fun to move around in.
I see now that a little more jewelry would be good — some gold hoop earrings, I think. I do like a simple open neckline, though, and wouldn’t add a necklace. My heeled shooties are keeping me Visible!
Dress: BCBG, thrifted; Tank: Vivienne by Vivienne Tam; Shoes: Impo, thrifted. |
Add lipstick, and head out the door! Sometimes dressing is simple : > |

Love the name shooties…So cute!
Patti, what a great idea with the dress. I need to try it too. Thank!
Looking good! I also love green and I especially love the curve of the top's hemline.
I'm curious to see the heels of the shoes!
Simple = elegantly understate!. I love the colors of the tank on black background.
Patti, I love 'no brainer' outfits. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's still wearing black with all the color floating around. You look great as usual.
Great idea layering a tank over a dress. I should give that a try. I don't think you could be invisible, Patti – you're beautiful.
You look so comfortable yet stylish!
ooh loving all the bright outfits posted! patti the shoes are awesome – i have a pair of impo boots and they are ridiculously comfortable. thanks for hosting the link up!
Black knit dresses are pretty much the best thing in the world. I love how you've layered over yours; I really need to remember there are more layering options with dresses than simply cardigans and jackets!
Happy Visible Monday!
That top looks so "right" over the dress! I'm always confused when I see tops like that because the bottom is so awkward looking on me – now I know what to wear them with!
Love the tank over the dress, so simple and stylish. Did you decided on a hair style yet? Glad I found your visible monday. Sounds like fun and a reason to stand out on mondays.
This look is fantastic!!!!!!!
I like the drape, too! And if warm colors are your best, then it's smart to cover up as much of the black as you can. 🙂 I've been wearing a shirt that has a handkerchief hem like your tank and I love it. It's not my best color because it's so muted, but I love it, nonetheless!
simple is sometimes the best! i've never thought to put a tank over a dress; it's pretty ingenious. i'm going to keep this one in mind. thanks for the inspiration!

yeah, that's an awesome combination together. Not wearing jewelry really emphasizes the great shapes created by the layering – with the shoe boots too. very cool…
I love the cut of your top which must really accentuate the flow. I'd like to see this outfit in motion! Great layering, too.
there are days that I go simple without accessories too. Interesting way of layering a LBD. I think it''s a great idea to add dimension to your outfit Patti! An LBD is a versatile piece to have in the wardrobe too.

Yes those fantastic shoes really make the outfit!
So cute! And you know, I really like a bare neckline, unadorned, too. I hadn't thought about it before. (So why do I keep collecting necklaces????)
Oh, I thought it was a skirt and a top. Wonderful way to break up the black dress. Always a fan of your shooties!
Have a great week Patti!
I will no doubt be a bit late posting this week–still recovering from a 60 hour pajama party. I don't know why I had not made this connection before, but your mention of green brought to mind a blog that I think you should check out: ThatDamnedGreenDress. Her coloring is very similar to yours.
I love the idea of layering a tank over a simple knit dress. It's a great look in your photo. I'm sure the dress looks wonderful on it's own, with just some jewelry – looks like it has a flattering cut for you.
You will get a lot of wear from that top this summer, is my guess. Great shooties!
Happy Monday! xo
I love this top…all my go to colors and I really like the fact that you have a black knit dress you can be so versatile with…great garment to have!
