Visible Monday #136: The Floral Print Does All The Work

There’s nothing easier or cooler than a summer dress. This dark floral shift suits me just fine. I bought it at Dalitika, an online second-hand store. Check them out, there are some good bargains.

The high-waist dress is by Eddie Bauer, believe it or not. It’s 100% cotton, hand washable. I’m wearing a two-charm necklace, my favorite dolphin hoop earrings (similar) and Anne Klein platform wedges (similar). Easy as it gets – the print does all the work.

I really like my simple leather-strap watch from Target.

  2. Pretty dress – so feminine and flattering! I like the nude shoes with it, too, because they don't distract.

  3. I'm a big fan of Eddie Bauer, actually. I found out at the Eddie Bauer Outlet that their clothes are guaranteed for life. So when you buy something new, you can save your receipt and return the item if a zipper tears up or anything else goes wrong. A good thing to know.

  34. Oh, hello guitar! This is the best kind of air-conditioned clothing, a beautiful shift dress with flowers. And great shoes, also with air-conditioning. You get some great deals in the States with online shopping – sadly, shipping in Canada is like a bad reality show.

  41. I think that dress is absolutely gorgeous! I love the empire-line and pretty-detailed pattern. Such a shape always makes me think of Regency dresses. Great that it was a second hand bargain also! You're right of course- it doesn't need any extra details- it is perfect as it is!x

  53. Well, just a note for Fall,,, Dark florals (meaning the background color) is a trend for the upcoming season… It works well for Summer and the way you've styled it here!
    In the Fall a cozy sweater of jacket with tights and boots will make it very versatile… Love this look.
