Visible Monday #131: Flower Girl

Welcome to Visible Monday #131! If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

This pic was taken pre-NYC trip. I like to dress for transitional days – cool in the morning and hot by lunch – by wearing lightweight tops with covered legs. The tights can come off later, if needs be.

My new cotton blouse is so soft, and the print has olive in it, so it makes me color-happy. It looks splendid with both my olive silk skirt, and with jeans. A smart summer pickup for under $15 at Marshalls (similar). I wore Tsubo booties, but will definitely repeat this outfit with wedge sandals and no hose.

Welcome to matchy time! I love a little pink with my green.

Now, let’s see what you’re wearing, Visible Women!!

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple!

  1. Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
  2. Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post. Please leave a comment, too, so we know you had a good time.
  3. Go to the bottom of this post and click on the InLinkz button “Add Your Link”. It should open a new page.

  1. Olive green is one of my most favorite hues as well. It looks wonderful on you – lovely, lovely outfit, Patti! Thank you for hosting again, what a party! xxx

  2. Olive SILK … how freaking gorgeous. And with that so-pretty print. You're just a willowy beauty and I'm not even sure you know how gorgeous you are, Patti.
Kind and generous hostess, too! Thanks for throwing such a great party, yet again.
Glad you're home safe, and so happy you had fun ( and green-eyed jealous that I didn't get to go!)

  3. I find transitional dressing the hardest to do. You've done it here with aplomb and look fresh yet ready for a turn in the weather with the tights and boots combo. Love the pretty floral blouse. I struggle with when to wear tights but you're right – better to wear them and not freeze and if the temperature goes up they can come off.

  4. Patti, first of all your smile is your best accesory! I love the floral top and the green is a lovely shade. xo jess

  5. Oh you look fab in your new blouse, Patti! and what a bargain! Definitely works great with that skirt! And those booties are to die for! I am on the hunt for ones like yours, but probably have to wait till fall! Also loved your NY pictures, hoping for some new thrifted looks soon!!

  6. You look so happy in your new blouse and really pretty, too! x

  7. Olive green is such a great color…flattering on many and quite versatile. I love the way you styled your skirt with that darling floral print shirt. You look so very happy, by the way. NYC treated you well!

  8. I really like that dainty floral pattern, and the green in your skirt looks great with the pattern on top!

  9. How nice to see so many familiar ladies who participated in the Visible Monday πŸ™‚

I am fascinated by your blouse this time. These colors and pattern are beautiful. The skirt fits perfectly. Like this length very much. You look adorable as always Patti πŸ™‚

  11. Pretty! And welcome home. Your trip to NYC looked like it was so fun. That's the great thing about thrifting: you can pop in and buy a pair of pants of a sweater or whatver if your outfit is somehow lacking. xo

  12. Fabulous flower girl. I will join you twice today.
Thank you for this link up and the chance to meet new and old friends.

  13. Lovely outfit! Olive green is such an amazing colour on you Patti, and your layering philosophy for this time of year is perfect. I often tdo it the other way. Keep my legs covered but remove a jacket to reveal a short sleeve.

  14. I love those colors together, and the print is so pretty on you. Hope you had a great trip to NYC – I enjoyed reading your posts from there.

  15. You make olive look so chic! And those shoes are to die for! See you tomorrow!

  16. You have a wonderful strategy for surviving the changing temperatures. The pink floral blouse is "very summer" and pairs perfectly with your silk skirt. Fabulous Visible Monday, as always.

  17. You look great Patti! Love your cute floral top! Thanks for hosting!!!

  18. How perfect your skirt is. I can invision it being worn a multiple of ways! Have a wonderful week.

  19. Looking pretty as always! I'm not a huge fan of florals but I always like to see them on other people, and you look great! The skirt has a really nice colour too πŸ˜€

  20. The soft colors are very pretty. I'll bet it would look really great with those mustard yellow jeans you just snagged… πŸ˜‰

  21. Wonderful look Patti! Your booties are stunning! Enjoy New York πŸ™‚ hugs, Beata xxx

  22. When I see olive toned clothing, I always think fondly of you Patti! It is your signature colour! Your blouse is perfect for incorporating your favourite shade in a spring outfit! Thanks for hosting Visible Monday. Lots of people to visit already! Looking forward to it!

  23. I love olive green and pink together. I am wearing olive green today, actually, though not in my blog post. Today my skirt is a mixed green floral paired with an olive green solid top. It's warm so I am lounging around at home in just a skirt and tee shirt. It's not blog worthy. πŸ™‚

  24. I love the pink in your outfit, too, and the bit of gold in your necklace. And happy birthday! (wasn't it your birthday recently?)

  25. Flapper hair. Smocking on your skirt. I think I'm in love.

P.S. I've been out of the blogging world for so long, I seem to have forgotten all my passwords to various "sign in" accounts. Ruh-roh.

  26. The pink and olive look beautiful together! Have you thought about adding a belt, maybe in a contrasting color just to be quirky?

  27. I love printed blouses too! Your one is a beauty and I really like your booties- they look super comfy but stylish x

  28. The floral blouse is very pretty and the colours look great on you. Thanks, as ever, for hosting Visible Monday x

  29. Patti, I find myself gravitating more and more towards those beautiful, soft floral blouses. You are so right, they look wonderful paired with a skirt and just as great with a pair of jeans. You do look wonderful in olive, great color combination. And, so loving your shorter hair.

  30. Patti, that is the prettiest print, and I love the rucking at the top of the skirt. You have such a cheeky smile – what had Sandy just said, was he being saucy?! xxxx

  31. Hi Patti, your olive skirt is perfect, love the color and the shape of the skirt and that shirt is perfect on it, indeed ! You look great ! Thanks for hosting Visible Monday, big hugs

  32. You look so cute, but I'm getting hot flashes just looking at those tights LOL! It's been near 90 here in Nashville so I can't imagine host in Florida this late in the year. I must admit they really add a polished feel to the outfit, though. πŸ˜‰
