Welcome to Visible Monday #11! If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the simple how-to.
I bought this colorful knit tunic (by Fleurish) at a thrift, and loved the hippie-ish print and the deep vee (needs cami though). It’s got some Visible features – mainly the print and the deep vee! and the body-hugging fit. But that’s what we’re doing here on Visible Monday, owning our age, whatever it is, and dressing in ways that make us feel good. We’re not hiding.
It’s not really cool enough for jeans yet but I wore my Mavi skinnies anyway, along with wedge sandals by Nine West. Because the outfit was already making a statement, I went soft on the jewelry: just my thin gold dolphin earrings and one silver/gold cuff.
I think this tunic was also meant to be worn as a dress – but not on me! |
I like the hippie print, especially near the hem. I’m linking my thrifted find to Spunky Chateau’s Thrift Party and to ColorBlind’s Thrifters Anonymous |
And even though I didn’t play this week, I wanted to share the very pretty look from Inspiration Monday at the Two Birds blog. I think an over-40 woman could definitely rock this feminine look. For me, there would be no skin showing at the midriff, but I would do the white shirt plus floaty midi skirt for work or play. OK, my male companion would have to be over 16, too. : >
The guidelines to participate in Visible Monday are so simple!
- Any Monday, whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
- Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post.
- Go to the bottom of this post and click on this cute little link:
In the “Next Step”, you crop the pic (easy tool) you want to display, and you’re done!
I think this fits you perfectly and I don't think you have to wear it as a dress; it looks great with jeans. Thanks for all the compliments and for linking up!

really cute look — one of my favorites that I've seen on you so far.
Yay for the hippie look! I enjoy seeing how you put your outfits together, especially the details.
I laughed at the over 16 male companion reference :-).
But yes, of course! If you just click on the big spotlight on the upper right of my home page ("Join Us. Click the Spotlight!") it takes you to the instructions page. In that post there's a para that says "Can I grab one of those nifty badges for my sidebar?" and you'll find the HTML for the badge there. Thanks so much for participating in Visible Monday!
Thank you Lisette. Yes, please do come by and post a picture, we'd love to see you here!
Thanks so much for participating, JT – your necklace is so pretty!
I do know, Paula – we got imprinted with those cool hippie looks when we were just wee ones, right? : >
I love your Monday outfit. I will try to remember to participate in Visible Monday in the future!
Patti darling,
Do you have a Visible Monday button to add to our blog posts linking back to yours?

The tunic is so pretty. My thumbnail wasn't showing but it is now.
Love the hippie on you! Love the tunic–or whatever its purpose!
I find myself reverting back to the hippie thing every now and then. Can't help it–child of the 60's ya know!
Thanks Danielle, and so glad you dropped by.
Thanks Debbie – love those feathers too!
Thank you girlfriend. Your post today rocks the blog-world!
Aw thanks, Tammy : >
You look great in this. Very put together.
I love the colors in the tunic…anything with a 70's hippie vibe is a thumbs up in my book! Debbie http://thriftygirlvintage.com
Patti, I LOVE this on you! Just gives you such a long elegant look! But I'm finding myself thinking that about EVERYTHING you wear, so maybe it's YOU and not the clothes!! Happy Visible Monday!
This is a very good look on you my friend! You make us proud!
Yay! for comments working – sorry for the delays. Thanks for your kind remarks, and for participating in Visible Monday, Pam!
Yes, curly-sister, the hair will remain! Thanks so much for coming by and for participating : >
Thank you CH, peace to you too, and hope Puss is having a great day.
Hi Angie – thanks for coming by. I extended the posting window till Wednesday b/c of the US holiday – so please come and post if you get a chance : >
Thank you Amber, you are a sweetie! The hair will not be sleek, you are correct!
I know, Erica – maybe a dress for my 12 year old niece : > Thanks for coming by.
Thanks Terri!
That tunic is SO gorgeous on you, Patti! Love the colors. I love tunics but they so often wind up being too big or shapeless, or they just make me feel BIG. That one fits you like a dream — Terri is right. (And don't you DARE change the hair! You know it's perfect just as it is, right?)
You and your outfit are gorgeous! I love your style. I'm posting yesterday's outfit…..no time for pic of todays. Peace sister!
The comments are working today!! Hurray! You look great in this outfit…the jeans fit you amazing. I also like the wall you picked to accent the colors in the outfit! Very Visible indeed!!
I like how you style your finds so that they are age appropriate. I'm a strong beleiver that we should dress according to the situation and not just wear what we fancy . Very visible outfit yet very grounded. It's hectic today ,see if I can manage to post.
Peace out Patti! That top is cute but as a dress…. Wowzers!
Now, I must admit that you look quite fetching the the sleeker outfit and must be the envy of many 20-30 somethings out there.. I think you need to show off with a "sleek-look week", but not your hair!
I really like your tunic top, and couldn't really imagine it as a dress! It looks great matched with jeans – really suits you
This tunic with the skinny jeans accentuates your slenderness–a beautiful look!
