It’s almost Spring, yeah? (It’s been warm here in Florida for a month, but Spring still matters.) New growth, new buds on the trees, the retirement of heavy boots and scarves, the surfers return to the sea. I especially enjoy the longer days, so I can ride my bike until evening. My wardrobe doesn’t change much until the dog days of June arrive, then we in the South dress to not-die in the heat.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

Green means Spring. This bright grass green top is fun to wear, with its chiffon asymmetrical hem. It’s courtesy of Diane Gilman fashions and I’ve worn it many times. It looks great over slim jeans or a pencil skirt, but here I broke the proportion “rules” and did full over full. The black tulle skirt (similar) is an old favorite, found on eBay a couple of years ago. I just can’t quit you, tulle skirt. Necklace created by the talented Suzanne Carillo, and old boots (sim) from Cydwoq.

The wind makes it look like a hoop skirt, love that.

  4. Expect a surprise on 3/17, St Patti’s Day! (heehee)

I clicked on the link for the top, but the top over there is shorter and doesn’t have the double hem detail. Sigh.

  5. That’s a really great shade of green on you, Patti, and I love the shape of the top.
Made me chuckle that you are talking about the temperatures getting warmer, when I’ve just done a post wearing a fur jacket and featuring vintage knitted undies! xxx

  6. This shade of green sings of spring! I look forward to it, not just for the leaves to come back but for the longer days. Thanks for the linkup and the punch is exceptionally refreshing!!

  7. oh you wild thang, Patti. Tulle is like flannel. It goes with any/ every thing, in my opinion!

  8. Adorable skirt! I love the asymmetrical hem line and the bit of sheer fabric peaking out as well πŸ™‚

    Monica.

  9. What an amazing colour on you!

And hey! The necklace works so well with it : )

Hope things are settling down in your life now.

    bisous

  10. The color of that top and the necklace is gorgeous! And I like how the long top looks over the fuller tulle skirt. The silhouette reminds me of the dropped waist dresses of the 1920s. Very flattering!

  11. I could very well be the only one who’s not welcoming Spring with open arms πŸ™‚ I prefer it when days are chilly and we need to bundle up. I suppose that stems from my being from the tropics, I eschew anything above 20 Celsius as much as possible. And it appears that this year, in Houston, we’ve gone straight from Winter to Summer, completely bypassing Spring anyways. Pray for me!! Temperatures aside, we’re both wearing green today albeit mine are pants πŸ™‚ this colour suits you, Patty, suits you to a tee xoxo

  12. What a fantastic look! You really do know how to put an outfit together!
The top looks almost more summery than spring-y to me. I mean, I think it’s perfect for wearing in March, but the color reminds me of summer rather than spring. It looks a bit like the ocean to me.
I have a new-leaf-green cashmere sweater that I’m very fond of, but I can’t seem to find any pictures. So you will just have to imagine it. While you’re at it, please imagine out the burnt spot on the sleeve.

  14. Loving that shade of green on you! the shape is fabulous and works brilliantly with Suzanne’s gorgeous pendant and the floaty skirt. Send some Spring this way, it keeps trying to snow. xxx

  15. I have recently noticed the roses are budding, I can’t wait for Spring! I too am styling green today, maybe it is our way of heralding in the Spring season. I hope it looks half as good on me.

  16. Beautiful green sweater! I enjoyed the unexpected mix with your tulle skirt and boots. Enjoy your week and the warm weather!

  17. Patti the colour of that top is stunning on you!! We’ve had daffodils out since Christmas Day which is unheard of in the UK, but then the poor things got a bit chilly when the cold weather kicked in in January. Can’t wait to be able just to go out without gloves on now…!!

Thank you for hosting, have a lovely week & see you later at #iwillwearwhatilike!

  19. In my post today I am talking about beautiful bright green for Spring. Your tunic is lovely and the perfect shade for St. Patrick’s.

  20. Well, my cute friend, we must have been on the same thinking track, about spring and clothing. I do love your green tunic and the asymmetrical cut and it actually works so well with this full over full put together. Perfect grounding with those boots! Yay for spring!

  21. You look good in green, and the tulle skirt is a fun complement to the top! I can’t believe it’s pretty much Spring already. I’m starting to think about sandals, but I need to have a pedicure first. If I had those Cydwoq boots I’d wear them all year!

  22. Lovely shade of spring green Patti, looks great πŸ™‚ I am so excited for spring! I have a snap of the blossoming trees on my latest post too πŸ™‚ hugs xxx

  23. Love these tulle skirts. I have been thinking about buying one, and I wondered if I would carry it off due to my age! But you have shown here Patti how it can be worn and look great. I am going to have to get me one.
