Show some leg. Maybe you don’t like your skirts cut up to there, but a multi-length hem like this one is cool and feminine. I don’t show my belly to anyone but my husband and dermatologist, but you can make your own call on that one. : >
White and ivory linen are the stars of summer skirts. I encourage you to welcome the wrinkles and make them part of that intentionally rumpled look. Who wants to iron in summer (or any season)?
Tell a story with an unexpected print that only works in summer. I love the sailboats on this skirt, and here’s another whimsical-but-not-crazy print.
Go shorter. This above-the-knee length is easy to wear if your skirt has some fullness. The linen is cool and refined.
If you prefer to be covered yet cool, try a wrap maxi skirt in a light print or stripe. I’d wear chunky-heel sandals with this one.

Our forecast is for some really hot weather starting this weekend so I will definitely be relying on dresses and skirts to get me through. I do have loose linen pants, but when it’s really hot, I like the extra air circulation that a skirt allows.
I also love skirts for summer. My favorites are mostly in white lace and white eyelet. I do love your selections though, and my favorite is the sailboat print. Thank you for sharing this style inspiration !

Skirts are comfy and provide great ventilation and always look fresh and breezy. I’ve been wearing them much more frequently this summer!
Agreed, Jude – just the ticket to look fresh in summer. xox
How fantastic is that sailing boat skirt! xxx
I love that scene! xo
I always love your skirt/tee combinations, Patti. That maxi-wrap skirt you shared above is my absolute favorite. I could see that with a crisp white tee and, like you said, chunky sandals. (If only they made it in my size, I’d be on it!!)
I hope you’re having a great week!
Hugs,

Thanks Sherry – I really appreciate the wrap maxi too. Happy weekend to you, xox
