We always hear that classics are forever, style-wise. Of course, we don’t all agree on the definition of “classic”, but we can all agree that our own classics are forever. I’ve never been a huge trench coat fan, for example, but if you are, you can enjoy one for decades.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

This picture is from exactly one year ago. (The real reason for the time travel: my Mac will not let me access my recent photos, so I got nothin’. But this old outfit still looks fresh and authentic. Computers!).

I still love and wear this combination of a simple white button-down shirt (similar), boyfriend jeans (sim) – or any jeans that aren’t skin tight – oxfords (sim), and a black blazer (sim). I look ready for most any occasion a retired woman will face – no more job interviews! I can always find updates for these pieces, even at the thrift stores. Get dressed in things you know you love, and then forget about your wardrobe all day – that’s easy dressing.

The zebra belt (sim) adds an unexpected touch, and I am always wearing the vintage bracelet from Citizen Rosebud.

Now, let’s see what’s in your closet, Visible Women.

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple:

    1. Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
    2. Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post.
    3. Go to the bottom of this post and click on the InLinkz button “Add Your Link”. It should open a new page.
    4. In the “Next Step”, you crop the pic (easy tool) you want to display, and you’re done!

Oh hey! Not Dead Yet Style is on Instagram! Please check it out when you have a moment: Instagram.

Stay fabulous,

  2. A classic indeed and so true we all have our own classics that suit us year after year.Hope your pesky computer problem is sorted quickly. Thankyou for hosting Visible Monday.

  3. Button downs don’t always look good on me—especially the crisp white ones. I always imagined looking chic and easy in one and I always look terrible lol! I have always wanted a classic trench coat. I hate to admit I’ve had a long term crush on the ultimate Burberry trench.

  4. This is such a chic and timeless look! I wore something quite similar to the office Friday and never tire of this classic style. I hope your computer woes are short lived.

  10. Well, they’re called classics for a reason… I think you can’t have too many trenchcoats, but I can live without a white shirt. You, on the other hand look fabulous wearing a crisp white shirt. Sorry to hear your Mac is holding your photos hostage. Do you back up your photos in Dropbox? That would at least let you access them on another computer…

  11. My photo is from almost a year ago too. Is it something in the water? Classics live forever, and, sadly, as I see in my archives, photos I don’t like. Hahaha. But I’m not worried because maybe I’ll like them tomorrow. Thanks for your famous linkup, Patti. You look fantastic!! As always. xo
