A Couple Of Observations On Street Style, and Rosie!

I’m planning a longer, better post about big city street style when I get home. The internet connection here has been iffy at best! And there is a lot of fabulous street style to discuss.

Fall/Winter “uniforms” are out and plentiful in the city. You know: jeans/leggings + boots + scarves. The jeans are skinny, skinny and skinnier. Boots are fabulous, mostly low-heeled and chunky. And the scarves are where the color and creativity comes in.

I like this simple look, and dressed just this way most of the time we were here. I substituted knit maxi skirts for jeans sometimes.

This sign made me smile on my last day in New York:

And my Halloween look:

Yes, we can do it!

Have a fabulous weekend!

  2. Looking forward to your NY post and love that you've been able to still give us a tease despite internet issues. I gotta say, you look smashing in dark hair!

  3. You look great standing by the vintage shop! So young and fresh. Oh I miss NYC. I haven't been since 2002. Time for another trip!

  4. You look eminently capable, Rosie, I mean Patti. And you look great as a brunette!

I definitely need some new scarves and skinny jeans.

  5. Happy (belated) Halloween! Great look!! I thought of you as I contemplate my hair appt tomorrow at Curltopia. I'm told the best curls in NY come from Deva Curl, and the stylist I'm seeing tomorrow trained there. We'll see!! Love the NY inspiration, and I'm sure you had a fabulous time. XXOO

  6. hi Patti! Man, I have seen a ton of Rosie Riveters this Halloween. Hmmm? My Aunt was an actual riveter for the war and she was a super woman. She didn't marry til she was 40 and had her only son at age 42. She was my fave aunt on my Dad's side. Thanks for the memory. Hey, have you seen my Blog Hop? I'd LOVELOVELOVE you to link up today. See if you can? I'll be at yours on Monday fo-sho! Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing the snaps from NYC!

  8. Fantastic Rosie! I agree, you look good as a brunette too and I like the strength here. I need some of that Cure. Just as well your connections were iffy in this magnificent city – no shortage of riveting distractions.

  9. I can't wait for your street style recap!!
You are adorable as Rosie the Riveter!!

  11. LOVE!! Your Halloween look…go Rosie! I am such a fan of street style pics. I cannot wait to see what you return with , Patti!. It is so warm down here that it is almost depressing to look at jacket and scarves…but my hope is for cooler weather soon. We have a high end baby boutique here which has the same sign in their window about espresso and a puppy…so funny!! Safe travels home!
