We still rock. What’s the name of this blog? NotDeadYet. And we over-40, over-50, over-60++ women still rock the Casbah. Only our brains know how to count years; our style and spirit don’t have an age.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

Well, this is not exactly a rocker outfit, but it inspires me. I think it’s the faux-leather thrifted pencil skirt that started my rock and roll attitude today. That, and red lipstick, and a messy head of curls, via a fun hairpiece. The black pajama shirt is a recent acquisition and it’s getting a lot of wear. I love the easy fit and the white piping.

The gold pendant was thrifted in the East Village of NYC; therefore, it is cool by default. 😊 And Doc Martens booties also rock and rule (these were a gift from my friend Pam).

I don’t get out dancing enough. I think I still have the music in me. Here we are, Stayin’ Alive:

  1. Hi Patti, what a lovely skirt – yay! And rocking it! Yes, you’re talking to someone who saw the Rolling Stones live at my local cinema before they were famous and sooooo young! Speaking of those 60+++ Stones I think we should all start including the 70+ in our lists, don’t you? I mean they’re also Staying Alive!!!! Have a great week, Patti!

    • Right you are, Penny. I’m just a handful of years from 70, and how those years are flying! You saw the Stones in their youth – how exciting! Thanks for coming by and stay fabulous, xox.

  2. Most definately rocking it Patti and you certainly have the dance moves. Many thanks for hosting Patti , keep on dancing.

    • Thank you dear Jill! Loving your Moyuru dress and head-wrap today – stay cool. xox

    • Thanks Debbie! I’m voting for your skinny black belt with the checked shirt, but no wrong choices. xox

  3. Love that outfit! Very rock chic and right up my street. Music makes us all feel so good. I watched Bohemian Rhapsody recently and I’m now more of a queen fan than I was before – their music brought back so many happy memories, growing up. My hubby saw them perform locally when Bohemian Rhapsody was in the UK charts in the 70’s – he said they were awesome and couldn’t get over how thin Freddi Mercury was! Ah memories!

    • What great memories! I too fell back in love with Queen after seeing BR. And Freddie’s voice – I could listen to him for hours. Love your checked midi today! xox

      • I agree. Forgot how powerful Freddie’s voice was, fantastic!
Yes, think I’ll get a lot of wear out of that checked skirt. It’s lovely warm wool. Perfect for our freezing weather!

  4. Of course you’re a rock star….at least among us!!
I never thought I’d be wearing a faux leather skirt until my mom made us ones, but aren’t they fabulous?? I love how they are really just a black skirt, yet so modern and hip!
    XOXO

  6. I wholeheartedly buy this idea:
“Only our brains know how to count years; our style and spirit don’t have an age.”

On this matter it is very advisable to check https://www.biocognitive.com/. Wonderful clinical neuropsychologist Dr. Mario E. Martinez. Really worth getting acquainted with his ideas!

    • Hi Jolanta, and thanks for the link – lots of informative articles at the site, and a positive view of aging. xox

    besos

    • Thanks so much, Sra.! I’d love to have a coffee with you today in the little village you visited, xox

  8. If you wore that outfit with ballerinas or black pumps, you would look businesslike and conservative. Your boots make all the difference.
Speaking of age, have you heard about the Yann Moix flap? Unattractive 50-year-old French novelist says he only dates 20-year-old Asian women because women over 50 are invisible. He is getting bombarded by photos of boobs and butts from 50-year-old women. Heh heh! But most of all he has turned himself into the most reviled man in France.

    • Thank you TOF. Yes, I’ve read about the dreadful little man, and I love it that 50 year old women are having none of his nonsense! xox

  9. I ve said it at the beginning of the new year, we are the IT girls this year! And look at you! Fabulous!
Hope to see you on my Fancy Friday linkup party!

    • Hi Gail! Thanks for linking up and for your kind words. Love your plaid tights with white booties, xox

    • Wow, thanks Emma – Stevie and Pat are some of my idols! Love your lacy dress with boots, and so sorry about the frazzled hair. Maybe a wee trim will save you? xox

  10. I so see you on that stage, and you can sing too if you choose. I love what you’ve done here!! And this is a great outfit for rocking on. I completely agree how our spirit and style stay are age-free. I posted but there’s not really an outfit there. Maybe later in the week I’ll find something. xo

    • Thanks, Mel – you are the inspiration for my theme! And your tight-pants chronicles are the complete bomb. xox

  11. Love it! Fantastic outfit, great rockster woman hair! You’re a smash onstage, Patti! : )
I was sorting through clothes I’d stored and was about to put one piece in the donation bag because my knee jerk thought was, “I’m too old to wear this.” I thought of this blog right after and the top moved right into the “current closet” pile.

Thanks for always being an inspiration.

    • Thank YOU, Cee for all your kind words and for digging out the cool fashion. Style is not a number, right? Rock on. xox

    • Hi Sherry! I want to dance the night away too. Thank you for coming by and spreading your joyful spirit, xox.

  12. Yea, you rock Patti, with leather and docs. What more could you ask for? Like your staying alive pose too!
