Visible Monday #106: How I Do Pink

Welcome to Visible Monday #106! If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the easy how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

Pink is not my best color. Too much pink makes my already rosy skin light up like cotton candy. So I really like this muted pink print, tossed up with some ivory, gray and olive.

I thrifted this Old Navy top in NYC for under $5 and love its feminine lines. It’s cool for summer weekends while still covering adequately. I paired it today with a cotton knit maxi skirt (similar) and wooden link belt (similar). And wild woman hair. You go, humidity!

The lovely woman at the NYC thrift, Angel Street, gifted me the pink bangle.

I will be away from electronics (gasp) on Monday, so I won’t be able to comment on all your fab posts. But I will catch up reading them all on Tuesday and I appreciate your linking up, always!

Now, let’s see what you’re wearing, Visible Women!!

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple!

  1. Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
  2. Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post. Please leave a comment, too, so we know you had a good time.
  3. Go to the bottom of this post and click on this cute little link:

In the “Next Step”, you crop the pic (easy tool) you want to display, and you’re done!

  3. What a wonderful top! I love pink as a colour and never think anyone is too old for pink. It really suits you!

  4. Excellent way to do pink! I have issues with many shades of purple. I also have a distinct issue with brown. However I do still love to wear them, even if I have to deploy work arounds.

  5. That is a really great top. I would have never thought it was Old Navy. It's a beautiful pattern and shape on you.

  6. This is a nice top. It's good that you know what colors work for you and what doesn't. I just wear colors that I like. πŸ™‚

  7. Patti, you show a great way to incorporate a color that you like, but you may not feel is good with your skin tone. I also love the design of the tank.

    xoxo,Carrie

  8. I love the print in your top. I don't think you look too pink. You must look fabulous in yellow and blue then. See you when you get back.

  9. I love your hair today. I've been wearing my curly all week and can only wish it looked half as good as yours! Pink is good on you, it goes well with your coloring.

  10. Your top is gorgeous, Patti. You are right, it is so feminine and the right choice for hot summer's days! Thank you for hosting "Visible Mondays" and hope you can be back online on Tuesday.

  11. Well, what can I say? I'm living pink so I'm clearly a fan, but I haven't always been, green is still my favourite colour. I love the flounce on your floral top Patti:) xoxo

  12. I LOVE your wildly beautiful curly hair, Patti, I envy it very much! And I think we should all experiment with colours, shapes and styles we have previously ruled out as "not us" because you just never know, we may have got it wrong in the past!
Your pink-y floral top is gorgeous, all soft and drapey with lovely pleat detail. It suits you perfectly.
Linking up – will go back and edit my post to add the link, I thought I would do another post today but probably won't have time, and I would hate to think I hadn't acknowledged your wonderful hosting. You know I am a stickler for manners! xxxx

  13. Wonderful to and skirt, dear Patti. Always so elegant.
Thank you another week for this chance to meet.
I will be away until the end of august.
Off to Scottland for some trekking and family time.
I will join you when I get back.
    HAVE A COOL SUMMER

  14. I'd say humidity is your friend when it brings out your wild child. And this pink looks great on you. I hope you'll be having a wonderful electronic-free Monday!

  15. I guess it's easy for someone with straight hair to say, as I've never had to maintain curls, but I have always admired the heck out of gorgeous locks like yours. Volume and instant style!

Thank you for hosting Visible Mondays. I'm looking forward to meeting even more cool style bloggers this week.

  16. The whole outfit looks so cool and comfortable. Your hair looks great.

  18. Thanks for the link up Patti! Always a pleasure to take part. I'm envious of your warm weather, your thrifted top is fantastic

  19. So you're telling me you got both the bangle and that gorgeous top for $5? I need to meet you next time you're going to NYC and do some shopping. That blouse and color looks wonderful on you and your skin tone, although I love cotton candy so I would most likely love an all pink on you also. I envy your wild hair.

  20. You always make even a simple outfit look classy! Like a lot of colors, sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right shade or pattern to go with your complexion. And when you find that shade for $5 (and a free bangle!), it's serendipity!

  21. Pretty design of this fluttery top. Also like the touch of ruffles on your sandals. Your curls are gorgeous!

  22. Your pink is my yellow, which I also took a stab at for VM. You look very cool and collected here (in spite of the wild woman hair).

  23. The print is really very flattering on you! and those buff arms! Kudos to you for all those push-ups…..xoxo
ps i see me now on side bar :~D

  24. I love your tousled hair, Patti – it totally suits you. Great outfit!

  25. Lovely look, as always. You can absolutely do pink. It looks amazing on you. Enjoy your technology-free day πŸ™‚

  26. The colors in that blouse perfectly complement your beautiful complexion. I miss NYC so much, and can't wait until we can get back up there!

    Love ya,
    Lynne

  27. Great blouse. Looks so comfy for summer and it's a really cool shade of pink!

  28. Your pink top looks fabulous with your inspiring hair. You are the picture of summer!

  29. That subtle blush of pink looks enchanting on you my dear, just the right shade to make you blossom as if in the first flush of love. I love that top, so pretty.

  30. Love the draping of your top, it looks great. I like the blend of the pink with the greys.. After being sworn off pink (since I was little), now have a pink phone cover & a few pink tops and scarves. Quite a sea-change!

  31. I have a very pink complexion and I still wear tons of it. I go for the bright pink though. Here the soft pastel pink looks lovely on you. $5 is a brilliant price.

    bisous
    Suzanne

  32. You have gorgeous coloring… and your "wild" hair has inspired me (honestly) to let my hair go curly. You'll be seeing it soon. In fact, you won't be able to miss it. My kids giggled and gasped. But I'm getting used to it. I'm tired of fighting it!!! Love yours and ready to try to love mine!!!

  33. Gorgeous top–so summery–and will be cute under cardigans in cooler weather!

  34. It seems that you chose the perfect pink for you – so great with the maxi – and as you mentioned, the feminine lines are wonderful. Looking beautifully put together, as usual…LOVE the hair au natural!

  35. I love the colour combination on you! Delicate and sophisticated.

  36. That top is really beautiful on you, Patti! I love the softness of the ruffles and the print as well. Thanks for hosting all of us yet again this week πŸ˜‰
