Sometimes it’s the color, or the feel, or the drape, and sometimes it’s the shape that makes us love a piece of clothing. The structure of a Birkin style bag, the outline of a vintage peplum jacket, or in this case: the crisp lines of a Little Black Dress.

I found this architectural dress in a thrift store somewhere, I can’t remember as it’s been many years. The maker is unknown, but the sewing is nicely done. The stand-up collar reminds me of Jackie Kennedy’s 1960’s dresses, but it’s modern. I feel like a powerful woman wearing it, like “don’t mess with me, my dress has a superpower!” 😊
The steampunk pendant is an old thrift find, and both bracelets are vintage. The lace-up wedge shoes, however, are having their first appearance. They’re my “Florida winter” shoes by Sofft.

The entire outfit is simple stunning Patti. Yes, definitely Jackie inspired. You always choose the best vintage clothing. How do you find stores that carry these fantastic pieces? This look, with your wavy “hair” style is throwing some serious Helen Mirren vibes our way…a classy, perfectly tailored, ageless beauty. Having serious dress envy 🙂 Oh oh oh, those lace-up shoes are to live for.
Kitty is verrrry diva. Hahaha.
The standup collar is what I love most about this dress. I’m feeling a powerful mod vibe, a favourite. And the hair is fantastic. The way you switch your hair up gives me courage to play more. Thanks for the linkup.
Kitty has never done a lick of housework in her long life, so she always looks fresh. Thanks for linking up; your Talking Heads jacket is so goooooood. And the thought that I give *you* style courage is mind-blowing! xox

I’m wearing an unexpected silhouette in today’s blog post – a very loose cardigan worn as a dress. I don’t like myself in that style too much so I added a belt and made it less striking. Love the silver hair and adorned kitty!
Thank you Gail. I really do like your cardi-dress with the belt – still striking! xox

I LOVE this ensemble, it is perfection, truly. I want to give my thanks to you for modeling the wigs for us. For a future post, I would love to learn from you how to chose one for myself. My hair is thinning and I will likely need one in the next year or so.

Great outfit. You look great and your hair color looks fabulous and really compliments your coloring. I went silver about 2 years ago. I have never had so many compliments but I must admit it did take me a while to get used to but now would never have it any other way.
