I don’t go to the Mall very often, because so many of the offerings look identical. But it’s always a snap to find stylish, beautiful women over 40 in the blogo-sphere. Just check out the grown-up women below in cold-weather outfits and accessories, for chic inspiration:
Go retro in the snow. The always stunning Vix of Vintage Vixen is brilliant in the fresh snow, wearing a vintage (naturally!) Welsh cape, vintage sheepskin hat and high-heeled Wellington boots. Her vibrant gloves and tights are icing (heh) on the frosty cake.
Elegant and chic in a warmer climate. Susan of Une Femme D’Un Certain Age lives in Southern California, and her winters are similar to ours here in Florida. Susan combines a long velvet duster with a silk/cashmere scarf, released-hem jeans and booties, and looks rocker-chic.
Animal prints, and the color of the year. Fabulous redhead Jessica of Elegantly Dressed And Stylish also lives in a mild climate, and dresses beautifully for cool days. Here’s she’s wearing a Karina dress in the 2018 Pantone color of the year: regal purple. She’s warmed by a faux fur leopard jacket and classic dark hose.
Wrapped up and cozy. Natalia of In The Writer’s Closet looks toasty in a wool/alpaca/mohair plaid coat, knit hat and Born boots. Love the bold scarf and sunglasses for a complete cozy and colorful look.
Go mad for plaid. Kirsten of The LIFB Issue deals with a fresh layer of snow in a colorful mixed plaid outfit. A quilted down vest and GAP knit beanie keep her warm. Kirsten takes the cute-and-practical route for footwear with her red Hunter boots.

OMG Do I love that sheepskin hat on Vix or what!!! I’m a firm believer of fur hats in the winter months…. nothing keeps the head warmer or the look hotter.
I agree. These ladies are incredibly stylish and all own their very unique style.
I’m loving all your choices. These ladies all look smashing. Photos like this often make me wish it was a little colder down here in Florida so I could wear more winter stuff.
Theresa
I know that feeling! thanks for your comments, xo
It’s all about the layering and hats!!!

Thank you Parri for featuring me among the lovely ladies! It has been unseasonably warm here in North Carolina except for the last few weeks.. now the cold has hit! Love these toasty warm looks.

my pleasure, Jess. We’ve just had a cool snap too, very welcome. xox
All gorgeous, real women – I love each one’s style!
thanks, Kellyann – all of you are my style inspiration. xo
Lovely to see winter fashions, from me in 100F summer in the south of the planet. Sam the Aussie
Ah sorry to forget you wonderful Aussies! Stay cool, xo
OMG!! That is NOT winter dressing ( at least one of these ladies lives in SoCal…)
Right now it’s -15 Celsius outside and snowing! I wouldn’t get to the end of my drive dressed like anyone of these. If you want to see how fashionable women take on winter come to Québec…we wrote the book on that style!!
We have the fabulous parkas and boots to prove it…that may sound like an oxymoron but, hey the real cold takes up a good part of the year so yes being warm and stylish is a necessity!
send us a pic and we’ll post it! Thanks for your comments,
-p
Being originally from Siberia, I know what you mean, Allison! It is -30 C for a lot of winter back where I am from! But to those living in a moderate/mild climate, it IS winter dressing. We would dye from overheating if we wore Siberian or Quebec style parkas and fur hats and valenki here! 🙂
that’s die not dye 🙂
WOW, what fun to see myself in this brilliant company! Thank you, Patti!! I agree with you, there is so much inspiration in Bloglandia! <3
agreed – we don’t need “women’s magazines” any more to see the best style. xox
Yay, that’s me!! Thanks for including me in with those stylishly dressed winter girls! xxx
You are one hell of a stylish girl! xox
