Welcome to an exciting link-up for us over-40 fashion lovers: My Refined Style, created by the lovely Shellie of The FABulous Journey.
We’re hosting a link-up once a month, that all you 40+ beauties can participate in, and share the love. All you have to do is leave a link below, using the ever-familiar InLinkz tool, and mention My Refined Style in your post. Your link-up will be shared over seven fab blogs, and E!Television (kidding, for now, about that last thing).
Burgundy (Merlot, cranberry, Marsala, I’m thirsty) is one of my favorite colors for Florida winter. It goes with everything, and it even made my custom lipstick turn pinkish (it turned coral here). This simple v-neck sweater is a staple from Old Navy (sim) and it gets a lot of wear. I have a charcoal version too.
My Refined Style, as I’ve said before, isn’t refined in the sense of Town and Country magazine or the Upper East Side. But it’s the way I’ve pared down my look to things I love – if not by age 60, then what would I be waiting for? The vintage thrifted tassel necklace (sim) is another favorite piece, as are the stretch trousers by Michael Kors (sim). I see here they could use a wee hemming – that’s the magic of photography. Black booties (sim) finish it up . . .
. . . . until I break out the hot pink/coral wool jacket (sim) I just thrifted this week. It’s not actual vintage, probably 90’s, but it borrows the bracelet sleeves, rounded collar, and swing shape of the late 50’s. It’s a new favorite and will look great in NYC for our Spring trip too.
Now, let’s see what your style is today!
