My beautiful friend Judith, also know as the Style Crone, was visiting Florida and asked if we could meet. Of course, yes! Judith is one of those remarkable women who make you feel warm and accepted, just sitting across from her.
We only had time for a lunch, but we filled it with talk and emotional feedback, as two retired mental health professionals can do. We didn’t stay on the surface, we went deep at times. You have to go deep and not be afraid, I think, to get close.
Of course, Judith is wearing a fabulous hat, her trademark, and skinny black jeans from Paris. One of the things we discussed is the ability to dress with verve on a budget. Judith is a fan of thrifting and vintage shopping, and recycling older pieces. Me too; I’m wearing a consignment dress by Eileen Fisher, and a gorgeous hand-crafted necklace from Suzanne Carillo.
The lighting was dim at the restaurant, but we were happy to get just a couple of pictures. Here we look roughly the same size, and our table’s been cleared. |
While here Judith was leaning back and I look like a Gargantua next to her : > But you can see adult beverages were enjoyed, as well as delicious salad and bread. |
I wish Judith lived next door, or just a few hours’ drive away, as she was this day. She lives in Colorado, and I don’t get to lunch with her nearly enough. Miss you already!
