Fashion Beauty Friend Friday: My Blogging Nest

This week, Suze of Miss Vinyl Ahoy is hosting Fashion Beauty Friend Friday. She wants to have a look at where we do our best work blogging.

I wish I had a more exotic spot to show you all — my airy loft in the East Village, or my Petit Studio on the Left Bank of Paris — but here is my humble and beloved office, from whence I read and write. My husband’s desk is right next to mine (and much less neat). I love having him nearby while we both think and try to create good stuff. (He’s a software designer who works mostly from home.)

We have a nice street view, and a couple of big oaks to look at.

If I am very lucky I get a cat or two to join me on the desk.

King, the nicest, gentlest feral cat ever. Born in our yard and never left.
And his sister Skinny G, snuggled against him.

My portable blogging device, and a very nice companion:

I heart my iPad

Visible Monday Reminder:  Monday August 1st is Visible Monday, a group posting for anyone who’d like to participate. The simple guidelines are here. Basically, just post something that makes you feel wonderful/visible, and link to it via my Monday post. Easy and fun.

  1. My husband LOVES his ipad! My work space is basically the couch! LOL How nice that you and your husband can couple the desks! Hugs to you! ~Serene

  2. So jealous of the ipad and the large monitor…your desk is much tidier than mine at the moment, as I am just finishing up my summer semester.

  3. You are so neat!
Sometimes I can't find my computer for all the clobber! I would LOVE to have an I-pad!
(Or a new lens for my camera, it's a draw !)

  4. I like your space! Very cozy and peaceful (with the cat as an extra bonus). I need to set up a good space, as my lower back decrees that I can no longer blog in bed with my netbook. I've been bummed that I have to now blog in a stiff, cold, ergonomically correct space. But now you've got me thinking about ways to make it more pleasant.

  5. Wow, what a nice neat desk.

I blog from my chair in the den surrounded by dogs–sometimes their faces end up in front of my laptop screen, demanding attention NOW!

Pretty, handsome cats. We used to have a tortoise shell calico with white mittens–thus the name Mittens.
