You know I don’t have to get dressed up very often anymore – and even my former office dress code was super-casual. But a woman likes to get polished every now and then. So I challenged myself to create an all-thrift dressy outfit. Woman does not live by yoga pants alone  : >

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

This fab three-quarter sleeve jacket (similar) is a new thrift acquisition. It fits close to the body and creates a waistline. The maker is Trina Turk – one of my favorites – and I bought it at our Molly Mutt thrift for $10. It’s a tight fit if I wear a knit top underneath, but it works well with just a tank top or colorful scarf (sim) tucked in the neckline.

I love the pleated skirt, too – a thrift score by Theory (sim). It’s very ladylike, so the next time I wear it might be with a graphic tee and biker boots. My booties today are super-comfortable (sim), purchased years ago from I-forget-where. I hope I avoided the ladies-who-lunch look with my messy hair (hair by Ellen Wille) and big honking bracelet (sim).

  1. Your look is not only classic, sexy, and smart but the fact that it’s thrifted makes it inspirational too!! I love the little flipping pleated skirt! !
Can’t wait to see you do the funky version!

  2. Your style is so versatile Patti. Loved the polish outfit on insta and the cut suits your shape perfectly. Thank you for hosting and have a lovely day. Its so stormy and rainy here right now…perfect time for blogging inside 🙂 Sabina

  3. Looking so good in the blazer and skirt, classic but with your own twist. You certainly are the queen of thrift shopping. Many thanks for hosting Visible Monday.

  4. Great jacket! Love 3/4 sleeves on them. You’re in the Cocoa Beach area, right? I’ll have to venture that way one of these days for some thrifting. There is obviously some very nice stuff up there 🙂

  5. Whenever you are in the Netherlands I ll take you with me for a thrift store shopping dpree! How in heavens name do you find these gems?

  6. Patti, gorgeous as usual! That jacket is fantastic. And I just realized that I have acquired the best blazers, jackets, and coats from my local thrift store! My favorites ones in my closet are all thrifted. I have a few that are also a little snug with a knit underneath. I never thought to just wear a tank and a scarf and make the jacket act as my actual top! Thanks for the new perspective on styling too snug blazers!

  8. You look very spiffy and polished, perfect for taking charge in what you’re tackling. No one would mistake you for a “lady who lunches” but I wouldn’t mind having lunch with you again. Thanks for the link up (and happy memories).

  9. I’m not seeing a lady who lunches, although you very well may have lunch. I love the mix of tailored and loose, especially the addition of the booties and the fantastic geometric pattern on the jacket. Thanks always for the party.

  10. Wow, haven’t seen you in such a formal look… but you look very classy. And both the jacket and the skirt will mix well with a lot of other pieces. And I really look forward to either one (jacket or skirt) with biker boots…

  11. Fabulous look, Patti! I love the fitted jacket with the little flippy skirt. I’m a fan of contrasting uber-feminine items with more masculine pieces – such a fun contrast. Linking up shortly – thank you (as ever) for hosting!

  12. Excellent job! You look fabulous! One of the things I love to do on a slow day is go to the thrift shop and buy a full outfit and take it home and style it. I have always said I could take anyone to the thrift shop and buy them a full outfit for any occasion! Peace! Cheryl

  13. Trina Turk?! Theory?! I want to start thrifting with you! I love both of those brands, and you look fabulous and polished! xx
