Welcome to Visible Monday #94! If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the easy how-to.
This pretty dress from Lands’ End (similar) is conservative in shape and print/color. It can go anywhere, from work to a wedding, to Mother’s Day lunch. It is a perfect length, washable, flattering – all the good starting points.
Twenty years ago, when my independent style was just a whisper, I would have added neutral hose and black mid-heel pumps and gelled my fuzzy hair. Today, it’s taupe tights, killer Poetic License booties, and I love my crazy hair.
This sounds a bit full-of-myself, but I’m not. I am so relieved and happy to have found wardrobe expression. Blogging and reading all your fabulous blogs has brought along me to a more authentic place. Thanks for sharing the journey, especially here at Visible Monday!
I think I’ll try a wide belt next time. |
Happy. Yellow platform sandals would be awesome, too. |

And you have the reason to love yourself. You are looking absolutely gorgeous. I don't know exactly how young you are, but I hope when I get to your age that I would look as gorgeous and sexy as you are. π Love your crazy hair too! π Thanks for hosting. I made it again.
Oh, Patti, I love the thoughts you expressed here! First of all, I love your hair too!! Mine is stick straight, so your wild waves make me a bit jealous!! Second, you don't sound full of yourself; I know exactly what you are talking about. I wonder sometimes if I sound that way myself, but there's a freedom, an ease, that comes with middle age, and I love it!
xoxo
Lynn
Patti, I think its great to put a new spin on piece from your closet. That allows you to get some many different ways to wear it. Love the booties.
xoxo,
Carrie
You look wonderful, Patti; very feminine and pulled together.
I love your thoughts of a wide belt and yellow platforms to go with your dress next time. Please post that combination as well if your decide to run with it.
Your hair is really cute! I've got frizzy, curly hair, too, that seems to have changed as I've gotten older. Like everything else, I've learned relax, accept and go with it.
Thanks for your wonderful Visible Monday!

Patti, Those boots ARE killer!! I love your "new" style ;o)

A Wrap style dress is classic, chic, elegant & versatile. Yours is Gorgeous & I love the print. Nice booties, too.

love your styling today! Very pretty and definitely like this version better!
I hope you don't mind, but I linked a second time- this time an OOTD ensemble. I guess I thought it merited a Visible Monday launch. xo -Bella Q
I love your dress Patti β₯

What a pretty dress! It's very versatile and can be styled many ways. Pairing with the booties is a fashion forward move. It's a hit!
I love this dress on you…so gorgeous!!! Thank you for the linkup.

That is such a versatile dress….you can wear it casually, dressy and for the office.
Blogging has done the same for me. I have finally developed my own style by weeding out the things that don't work for me and focusing on what does by trial and error.
Patti, I love the taupe tights and booties with the dress – a way funkier and stylish alternative to the one your style doppelganger from the past may have chosen. Your dress also reminds me that I've been stalking Karina dresses courtesy of your link. In spite of their being impractical for breastfeeding, I've decided I must have two! I sure hope they ship Internationally! xo
Patti, I love the authentic You! I love your clothing, your hair, your accessories. And today, I'm really lovin' those booties. Thanks for hosting Visible Monday. It's always such a great inspiration for me.

Such a pretty floral dress. YouΒ΄re so elegant! IΒ΄m a new member to the link-up. π

You certainly come over authentic. Well done on that journey. Thanks again for hosting!!! I love coming over every monday. Xxx
Your outfit is fantastic. I totally get what you mean. Reading other blogs (and writing my own) has definitely helped me really define my style. Only took 40+ years.
Those booties are fierce and add just the right amount of edge to the floral wrap dress.
I love your hair too! Us curly girls let our natural effervescence shine through when we can embrace our wild curls and not try to tame them down, don't you think! You look beautiful in that lovely dress, and I love those boots too.
I've always loved your hair, I'm so glad you leave it to be natural as it's gorgeous. You resonate confidence and style. x
One of the great things about getting older is discovering our style, what suits us, and being more confident and braver in our choices. That dress is great and the shoes are fantastic with it!
Gorgeous dress, and fabulous YOU.

Hi Patti-I really love this dress, it's very DVF inspired and perfect for any season too! Have a great week ahead! xx Sharon thriftmystyle.com
Hi Patti, I love your blog and I really like this dress you are wearing. I tried to link up and succeeded in posting my sunday outfit not my monday π I have wanted to link up for ages but never get around to taking a photo on Monday as its always so chaotic.
You look lovely today Patti – it's so good that you are experimenting with style!
Your outfit today is screaming not just wishpering. It's great how we help each other with our choices!
This is a gorgeous dress. You're right, it can be worn for any occasion. You look lovely!
Patti – how fun are those booties with this dress! I love your curly hair – I wished I had some kind of life to my limp hair.

You look gorgeous with your curly hair! The dress with this nice little booties is so cute. Time for yellow sandals will come soon. I will also like the combination.

I can see how that dress could be styled very conservatively, but you've made it 'fresh' with your crazy hair (I've always wanted curly hair like yours), bold bangle and cutting-edge boots. I can see those yellow platforms with it as well. You look stunning as ever.
Hello, new visitor here and Im hoping to be a regular one from now on. Great to see women rather than teenagers caring about style and their daily outfits. I also joined your visible monday scheme. Yay.
Such fun booties, Patti! Hopefully soon the weather will warm up a bit more and you can shed those tights! I finally packed mine away for the season!
Your independent style now is an inspiration to me! You're right, there are so many inspirational women to follow on blogs – it's certainly changed the way I dress and the way I think about how I want to dress.
Thanks for hosting such a great party so we can all find each other!
Awesome hair. The dress is really pretty on you, the print is so fresh and carefree.
Adorable dress and I love how you've worn it with those awesome booties!! Yes–yellow sandals would be amazing with it!!
I love your floral print wrap around dress Patti. The wrap around dress is such a feminine classic piece.
What you said, Patti. All of my beloved friends and style bloggers have really helped me release the inner me – in style, in creativity, and in writing. I love you guys.
Patti, you look like a spring day. Since it's been raining for 48 solid hours, you may have some idea of how much you brightened my day!
I dream of having hair like yours. It's blonde and curled and wispy. Mine is heavy and wavy. Only way I can contain it is by cutting it off.
I love the booties with this look! It's the perfect bit of oomph to take this to the next level. You've got quite the rockin shoe collection. I'll admit personal style is a hard thing to find. I think anyone of any age should feel free to explore and try new things. You never know what you'll find and like!
This is one gorgeous dress on you! Classy & elegant! You're right tho…the booties do elevate the look to a more edgy & current vibe.
LOVE the booties. That dress is something that I would pack in a suitcase for just about every trip I would go on…..it's so flattering and wearable.
As a blogger in her first year, I can so relate to your celebrating finding a style that resonates so strongly within you… one of the best reasons to take photos and blog! and of course meeting all the wonderful supportive ladies in cyberspace!
Your tights, shoes and hair works for me! You look great. A wrap dress shows your figure beautifully.
blue hue wonderland
Pretty dress.
You look fabulous & so comfortable in your own style…..there are some great things about getting older!

"When my independent style was just a whisper." I adore this phrase, and it resonates with my experience. As you so eloquently state, this dress is versatile and the silhouette is beautiful on you.
I love wrapdresses and they flatter every figure! You look fabulous, Patti.
This and next week I can't participate on Visible Mondays as I am travelling.

Love the splash of yellow in this outfit – and your hair is fabulous! XX
I love your crazy hair too! That is a great dress, and your enjoyment and creativity with fabulous accessories is awesome. Thanks for Visible Mondays, Patti!
Patti this IS a killer outfit – good for you for saying so! The booties (which are just WOW), the cut of the dress and the colour of the tights are all perfect together. A very edgy, but flattering and feminine, look on you!

Great dress, I nearly picked this one a few months back for a bloggers challenge π

Awesome dress you are wearing there Patti .. You look so fab and comfortable in your skin that I think you should be a little full of yourself and I bet you would not come across as obnoxious. Have a stunning week and thanks for hosting this linkup.
I like how the bracelets match the flowers! I share your love of our flourishing age-related-personal-style. Two years ago I would have never owned the hat or the flapper set of pearls in my latest outfit post, either.
I think you look great in just about everything you put on…or should I say say, show us? And I agree, years ago I already loved fashion, yet I didn't exactly have a style…and I wasn't as bold as I am now. Feels great, doesn't it? Thank you for hosting Visible Monday!
That's a wonderful dress and it looks just great on you! I love how you styled it. I'm grateful to be able to share with everyone too π Thank you!
Patti, you look so confident and beautiful. I love that dress! It would be flattering on so many different body types. I'm still lusting after your boots, too. I'm honored to be a part of VM with you;-)
