Always and forever: wear exactly what you love, and what makes you feel authentic. And every now and then, push your style envelope. It’s pretty safe, when you consider the worst that can happen is you might feel silly. Walking a tightrope over the Grand Canyon to push the envelope, not so safe.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

I haven’t embraced the jumpsuit trend; I’ve only stuck my toe in the water. They always seem to bag out at my butt, and do nothing to flatter my lower half. But this knit one (similar) I found while thrifting with my girls in Vancouver, is the exception. It’s lean and stretchy, with a drawstring waist that I can adjust to sit at my hips. It’s in a subtle patterned neutral, so I can play with tops and accessories. And using the restroom is no more complicated than when I wear jeans.

The blue floral top underneath is an old thrifted favorite. The green pendant is vintage 60’s, thrifted in New York City. And the sandals are new! While I thrift most of my closet, I usually buy new shoes, just a personal preference. These are by Sofft, and feel like heaven.

The jumpsuit has a long, lean look that I like, and it never wrinkles. Winner!

Now, let’s see what’s in your closet, Visible Women. The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple:

  1. I like jumpsuits but have a hard time finding one that flatters my shape. I saw the photo of your wearing yours with your floral patterned Docs on Mel’s post and it looks great on you. I know what you mean about them usually being baggy in the butt – I have that problem too!

  2. You look great in the jumpsuit, Patti! I have been toying with getting one, too. I used to have a purple one many, many years ago, and I loved it.

Hope you are having a great week!

  3. You look fantastic in your jumpsuit, Patti! I love it so much! Soft is one of my fave brands too, when they fit my wide width foot. Well made shoes!
And I so agree with your philosophy – have fun! explore! play! feel joy! No need to take it all too serious, to aim for being awarded for always be put-together, elegant, super trendy, stylish or whatever – just have fun! It’s not Grand Canyon or brain surgery – it’s only clothes, and life is supposed to be fun! 🙂

  4. You know how I love a jumpsuit! Yours looks fabulous on you and you’ve made something out of your comfort zone your own by adding your special boots! xxx

  5. I absolutely agree that it sometimes it takes a bit of trying to get something to work for me, if it’s an item outside of my usual style zone. You look fab in your jumpsuit! Glad you found one that works. Thanks for hosting x

  6. Now THAT is a great little sporty jumpsuit Patti! I have the same concerns about baggy butt syndrome in jumpsuits! I love the creative way you’ve styled this is jumpsuit and I bet you’ll find this to be a really versatile piece!

    • Thanks, Jude! It fits me so much better than others I’ve tried. Being super-stretchy is the key, I think. xox

  7. I love how you’ve styled up this jumpsuit gem with the feminine blouse. It totally changes the vibe you had when wearing it at the thrift store with your floral Docs.

  8. Hi, Patti, I have two and as long as they are easy and quick to get out of, I like them. I just have bad memories of the jumpsuits of the 70’s so it did take me awhile to try one but I’m glad I did. Such a nice thrift find, I wonder if more will be showing up on the 2nd hand marker, rather than just Poshmark.

  9. So cute, Patti! It looks comfortable and stylish. I have yet to find a jumpsuit that fits me properly and in a flattering way. I think it may be a trend that just isn’t going to work for me. Oh well, I will just admire my fabulous friends styling these cute numbers!

  10. This is a cute jumpsuit and looks rather comfy! The lean and stretchy style works for you wonderfully.

  11. You look so cute in your jumpsuit. I haven’t bought one yet. I bought a romper a few years back and didn’t like the bathroom issue, so i didn’t think a jumpsuit would be much different. Maybe I should try one on in the store at least and see what I look like in one.

  12. You’re looking great in your jumpsuit, Patti, I think it really suits you! By pure coincidence, I am also featuring a jumpsuit in my latest post, and I’m also pushing my envelope wearing one … xxx

  13. Shopping with blogging friends sounds so much fun and yes it is a good plan to leave the comfort zone .The jumpsuit is so good on you , perfect fit and looks so comfy. Great sandals , I am the same shoes are too tricky to buy second hand. Many thanks for Visible Monday.

  14. What a fabulous jumpsuit Patti! I really like the style but for me it is uncomfortable to wear because embarrassingly, I have to go to the bathroom so often. I love the way you layered it with that adorable tea and comfortable shoes. Have a wonderful week!

  17. Oh Patti, I love this sweet little jumpsuit on you!! Missed you, welcome back, hope you had a grand time in the big city!

  18. Such a cool jumpsuit! I always admire them on other people, but never tried one myself (too impractical for my life, unfortunately…) As for pushing the envolope, we should all do more of that. In a safe way, not tightrope walking…

  19. That’s a sweet jumpsuit, Patti! I love the stretchy fabric. I keep seeing more jumpsuits in the thrift stores, and while I’ve done one myself this time around, they are not really my jam either. But never say never, right?

Happy week to you, welcome home, and thank you – as always! – for hosting “Visible Monday”!
