Several of you commented on my post about “Never Say Never,” that you’d wear a crop top if you found one that rang your chimes.
So in the spirit of Never S.N. I revisited the crop top. It’s a fresh and playful look for summer, you were right. I would totally wear this, with a longer tank underneath. My belly skin, I do not show it to the world.
I like this summer look, with different sandals. TopShop. |
I like this top too. It comes just to the waist, so cute. I’d wear a knee-length skirt.
The floral print is modern and the sleeve length is perfect. TopShop. |
Is a crop top in your summer style plan? Have a fun-filled Saturday, and stay fabulous,
Visible Monday is on its “off” week this week, so we can recharge, refresh, and laugh out loud. ☺Β We’ll be back on Monday, April 21st (actually, the Sunday evening
before)!
Hmmm. yes… perhaps with a longer top underneath. I am trying to go off my skinnies first. With all these wrinkles I must start dressing less young. It is beginning to feel awkward sometimes.

I'm not sure these would work for me, although in theory they should; I have a long torso and shorter legs, relatively speaking, and quite a small waist. So why do I immediately think I wouldn't wear them? I think it's because of the fear of belly flash, and also because I am a tucker-inner. And short and boxy doesn't do me any favours.
But are YOU going to try a crop top then , Patti? Show us if you do! xxx
I do the crop top over a long top, too. Debbie @ ilovemylemonadelife.com
Like you, I will wear something cropped with something layered underneath. I have a few sweaters that are cropped or else very very short. I generally put a tee shirt under them. I am definitely not going to be flashing my midriff any time soon. I didn't even like doing it in the 80s when I was young. I choose draped looking crops over boxy ones as I think they are more flattering to me, though I could b delusional.
I like the idea of wearing a shorter crop top over a tank, but I haven't actually tried it. I really like the longer sleeves, though. My square shoulders and old lady arms don't look great in short short sleeves.
thanks so much, I am honored!
Maybe a longer crop top with no flesh showing! I really enjoy your blog, and have awarded you the sunshine and shine on awards!
I have a cropped lace one that I can layer over anything!
I might give it a try as summer progresses (but yes, always with a tank top underneath. I saw some girls out today showing their bellies in the cold wind and it didn't look good) http://s6x.it/17wh
Well, it is just not a flattering look for us curvy ladies! So, for sure, not in my summer wardrobe!
Cropped with visible belly – not for me any longer. From a certain age it doesn't matter which size you wear, it just doesn't feel right for me.
I am actually not a fan of longer layering tops underneath and rather leave the trendy tops to my 19 yrs old daughter π

I agree with Jennifer, it'a a great length for me because I'm on the petite side but I too would have to layer it. I just don't show my tummy off to the world now days, expect at the beach and or pool. I seriosuly think they look wonderful on women so I'm hoping to see you in one this season.
Hi like them. I would wear them with a longer fuller skirt ( midi) or just a higher waisted skirt or pants. Thank God we are not talking belly rings and crop tops with cut off jean shorts! Zara has some nice styles of these tops.
Curses! Just when I thought I'd exorcised my Mad Hunt compulsion for these – now you've sucked me back in! Argh!!!
Oh, and btw, you should come see my post today. No obligation to do anything; just know you're appreciated!

Hmm… I hadn't considered it, but now you've got me thinking… I might give it a try as summer progresses (but yes, always with a tank top underneath. I saw some girls out today showing their bellies in the cold wind and it didn't look good).
I don't know that I could ever go back to a crop top. The years have not been that kind. I think as a layer, yes. That first knit top is sooo lovely. I can see that over a longer t with a maxi skirt or boyfriend jeans.
That tummy is private! Me too.
It's actually a good length for me because I have short legs. But I'd have to layer it because no one but my husband and Dr sees my tummy.
I could imagine perhaps wearing the right kind of crop top over a longer dress or tunic, as an interesting layer. But my proportions are such that these don't really work for me. And I'm not a show your belly skin kind of person.
