Who doesn’t love a Little Black Dress for any day? I’ve always been a fan of black, and I like it against my blonde or silver hair (the color depending on the day 😎).

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

This knit LBD by Scandinavian-cool brand COS (via eBay) has minimalist lines and design. It’s hard to see in any photo, but it has a separate layer in the back and the hemline narrows a bit, for a modern silhouette. I wear it a lot because it makes me feel good, and it’s a great backdrop for accessories. If I wear it with refined heels, it’s a cocktail dress. Today it’s a casual piece for lunch at the Oktoberfest pub.

It’s taken me a full year to get the muscle tone back in my arms, after my broken wrist. So now I don’t mind showing them to the world. #recover

I chose my (old) Cydwoq booties for a Bohemian vibe, and added a vintage 1960’s necklace (sim), recently given to me by my dear friend Bryan. It was his mom’s so it is extra special.

The cut of this black dress can create some odd poofs here and there, but I don’t mind. 😎

The vintage 60’s wrap bracelet (sim, modern) was also a gift from Bryan. He’s a special person to me, and we’re going to see “A Star Is Born” together. Lady Gaga forever.

Is there a little black dress in your closet?

  1. Good evening, I was just checking out your website and filled out your feedback form. The “contact us” page on your site sends you these messages via email which is why you are reading my message at this moment right? This is the holy grail with any type of advertising, getting people to actually READ your message and I did that just now with you! If you have something you would like to promote to tons of websites via their contact forms in the US or anywhere in the world let me know, I can even focus on particular niches and my pricing is very reasonable. Send a reply to: LinaElinaAS65@gmail.com

  2. I love the style of the dress Patti, elegant and modern. I bought a dress from Cos a few months ago – it’s somewhere I’d never shopped before but I love the clean, classic pieces. I’ll be shopping there again when I next get the chance!

  3. I love the shape of your minimalist black dress, Patti, and it’s the perfect backdrop for that fabulous 1960s necklace! I’m not sure I still have a LBD in my wardrobe, but in my last post, I am wearing a black dress (sort of!) with a print, so I thought I’d link that 😉 xxx

  4. What beautiful pieces of jewelry! So very sweet of your friend to gift them to you. They’re beautiful with that dress and those so very snazzy boots!

    • Thank you Andrea, and the same back to you. Looks like you all had a blast at Treasure Island. xo

    • Thanks Anna, and thanks for the review of Mad Hippie. I just discovered them! xox

  5. A dress with a cool cut is a treasure, and you’re looking amazing in this funky piece, Patti! Love the nods to your friend in your accessories (I am dying to see that movie!). So glad to hear your arm is getting better too.

I’ll be there shortly – wearing the same dress as last weekend, because why not!?

    • Yeah, I could see this dress on you too (as well as Shelley)! Happy birthday and 50 more, xox.

    • Thanks, Ada, for linking up and for all your nice thoughts. And for the write-up on your blog, it was so generous! xox

  6. I don’t know whether I will write my post in time for the link-up, but I came to say that you look fantastic, Patti! The shape of this dress is so beautiful and very versatile, and the shoes and necklace that you added are so gorgeous – beautiful ensemble and very chic! I think I only have one LBD for warmer weather, but I haven’t worn it yet – I typically reach for colors. But it’s a classic and I think there are many possibilities around a good LBD!

    • Thanks for coming over, and for your kind words, Natalia! You wear your bold colors so well – I don’t know if I’ve ever seen you in black. xox

    • thanks Cheryl and thanks for joining in the link-up. Your animal print post was fun! xox

  7. Patti,

    xxDarlene

    • thanks, Darlene and thanks for coming by. I really like your foolproof Fall outfit! xox

    • Thanks, Suzanne. I found Lady Gaga a much better actress than Barbra, and the chemistry between the two leads is hot. xox

    • Glad you liked the movie too! Bradley Cooper is still too gorgeous to play a washed up singer : > Thanks for linking up – love your burgundy suede jacket. xox

    • Thanks Shelley – I can picture you wearing this dress, too; it has your vibe. xox

  8. This dress is so cool. I just love the silhouette! Wonderful background for your gorgeous statement necklace and booties.

  9. That is such a chic dress, Patti. It’s nice for our FL weather, as it can be accessorized in so many ways. I love your choice of booties and the retro necklace. Your slender frame can certainly handle some stylish “poofs”.

    • Thank you, Kim. I love your outfit for the Dali Museum; we just revisited it this past summer. xox

  10. I think my favorite thing about this outfit is the necklace. It really makes a statement and completes it!

  11. This is definitely your signature style Patti! I love those funky booties and how precious are those pieces from your friend Bryan! Extra special indeed. I am anxious to see A Star is Born, my husband not so much, but he’ll have to take one for the team, lol.
    xo,
    Kellyann

    • Thanks Kellyann. I think you’ll love A Star Is Born – I couldn’t get my husband to come with me : > xox

  12. I can totally see how you can wear this dress up-style or casual. I love the line and the simplicity. Your accessories really stand out. And I’m glad you feel better about your arms again, one less worry for you. Whew! Thanks for hosting this linkup, Patti.

  13. I love that dress. It’s absolutely the style I dream of–minimalist, classy, versatile. Something that can showcase jewelry. But it would look terrible on me–short and curvy. I would poof it out in all the wrong places. You, however, look fabulous.

    • Thank you so much, TOF. I enjoyed your fries story until the explosion! The fries do look delicious, xox

    • I love them too, thanks Nancy! Loved the FW Street looks in your post, my favorite is “Classy and Subliminal.” xox

    • Thanks so much Heather, and thanks for linking up. i enjoyed your round-up of jeans; I’m a cuffed girlfriend-jean kind of woman. xox

  14. Nothing beats a little black dress . Always the best for showing killer accesories. Good to see your wrist has made a full recovery. Many thanks for hosting.

    • Thanks Julie and thanks for linking up. Love your “in-between” sweaters! xox

  15. Love your black dress Patti. I am glad you got to show your hands. They are beautiful and sorry for the wrist issue and glad you recovered sweetie

  16. Love the style of this LBD Patti. Looks so easy and comfortable, and it’s the perfect canvas to showcase that great necklace. I have a very similar vintage bracelet like yours, I love it! Tell us what you think of A Star is Born, I’ve heard great things. XO

    • thanks Cherie! The movie was emotional and beautifully done, and a bit long for sitting still!

  17. A good LBD is sort of bland, nondescript, almost invisible yet comfortable and versatile. It has only one purpose: as the perfect backdrop to killer accessories. Nobody looks at the dress; your fabulous necklace steals the limelight, as it should. This outfit makes me wish I could wear black (without looking like Mrs Dracula, that is), it’s so perfect.

    • Thank you Tiina. I had to laugh at “Mrs. Dracula”! Whatever she may look like, it’s not your cheery self. xox
