I think I’m in love with linen this year. Maybe it’s just a crush, but I am wearing it most every day in the Florida heat. Here’s a work outfit I put together for just a few dollars, starring a linen skirt.
The man’s shirt (similar) is a thrift find for about $3, years ago. It’s a soft, fine cotton, and it doesn’t need ironing. The black linen skirt (similar) is a new purchase from the second-hand site ThredUp. It’s by Grace Elements and cost about $6. And the cool obi belt was crafted by my friend Megan from two men’s ties.
Only the shoes – my blue suede platforms by Sofft – were retail. I used a sepia filter in this picture to complement the old drawing of NYC behind me. |
Hey, I’m wearing two-thirds guy-stuff today. Thanks, men. |
Have a cool, refreshing day, and stay fabulous,

Wonderful outfit. The belt is an eye-catching winner! Love the 1st pic in particular – the sepia filter was an inspired touch and gave you a glamorous 1930s look.
You look so pulled together — I feel like the minute I have linen on, I'm a rumpled wreck!
Oh yeah, a man shirt and a man belt of ties. Poor men, it's so sad that they have waaaay more style rules than women. And we complain? Puh! Love this look.
Love this outfit on you – it does look cool and refreshing! The belt is fabulous.

Such a great outfit, Patti! I really love it. xo
Love this look on you. I've recently bought 3 men's shirts at thrift stores and raided my husband's closet. I love the loose yet crisp fit of them. Cool in the warmer temps too.
Love this look and linen is the best!
I can't get myself to wear linen, it wrinkles too much but looks great on you – The men's shirt is perfect –

No one wears a man's shirt as well as you, Patti! Love it with the flirty flippy skirt and great sandals. You look cool and chic, and I must echo everyone else who has commented on how great your hair looks at this length. Gorgeous you! xxx
Another favorite of mine on you! This silhouette just suits you so well! I think you win the prize for pulling off the men's shirt better than anyone! Hugs to you! Serene
You look so great in that. I'm loving the hair too!
Your hair is looking gorgeous, Patti!
Love the belt and the sandals, the whole outfit looks cool and fabulous. x
Great finds, Patti and I really like the obi belt!!
The belt really makes this. You know how to make a turned up collar work woman. They never stay like that on me.
I love the mix of masculin and feminine.
bisous

Love that belt! It definitely pulls the entire outfit together. Love it.

I love men's shirts!
Ooooh, I love ThredUp! Been shopping exclusively from them for months now. Great find in that skirt – it looks super fab on you!
I am in love with oversized shirts these days. And your hair looks gorgeous, Patti!
Still waiting for you to send me some high temperatures… desperately in need of some warm and sunny weather over here!

Great outfit! The obi belt really pulls it together. Love those blue shoes too.
I've been living in linen too, even though it hasn't been that hot here. Linen sweaters mostly, but today am wearing one of my linen jackets.
