Visible Monday #140: Full Over Full

Welcome to Visible Monday #140! If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

I usually wear a slim fitting top with these full linen trousers. But once in a while I like to surrender the middle, and wear a loose top like this one over my big trousers. I did belt this outfit, but I didn’t like the look or feel, so it’s loose for me today.

The semi-sheer top is a no-name, picked up on consignment. The J. Jill trousers (similar) were from the fifty cent rack at Molly Mutt, and the elegant vintage necklace (kinda similar) is from the Mutt too.  I’m wearing my vintage Egyptian style bracelet too (from Citizen Rosebud), as I do most every day.

I will do a nude camisole next time. I didn’t know how much the black shows through until I
saw these pictures.
Love this vintage 60’s (?) chain and pearl necklace.

Now, show us what you’re wearing, Visible Women!!

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple!

  1. Hey, Patti! Really a yummy set of lovely, light, sheers … so pretty on you. Certainly a lighter cami underneath would work, but I really like the dark one. Defines you shape beneath the floaty fabric! Thanks again for hosting us all. You are cleary the best.

  2. Absolutely beautiful, Patti! It is probably my very favorite outfit on you so far – elegant, airy, timeless, romantic. It really suits you wonderfully. Reminds me of A Month On The Lake with Vanessa Redgrave – a movie which I adore.

  3. Hey Patti, long time no…comment? haha I'm so glad you decided to forgo the belt – this outfit looks so sophisticated and chic (not to mention comfy!). Love it!

  8. Your hair looks fabulous here! Love the tunic.
Thanks for hosting my favorite swap. I hope you have a great week!

  9. I'm such a huge fan of palazzos for its great style! Why don’t you link up this post or any OOTD post this week to the TREND SPIN linkup which I am co-hosting with Laura and Erin. This linkup is now live till Tuesday next week…hope to see your pretty face there Patti!

  10. At the risk of sounding overly analytical (which I'm generally not at all!) I think this look works beautifully on you because of the monochrome-ness (not a word but you know what I mean), the long lines, including the pintucks on the shirt and the necklace, and of course your petite and elegant figure! I don't think you could look inelegant if you tired, Patti! xxxx

  11. Patti you look all sorts of creamy, beautiful, bohemian gorgeousness – I'm glad you surrendered your waist as the top works so well with the wide legged trousers! Such a good look, must remember this one 🙂

Thank you for hosting VM and have a great week!

  12. Lovely neutral tones, they look great on you. And I LOVE hearing bargain stories. Thanks for hosting x

  13. That blouse and those pants are gorgeous. Soft neutrals look wonderful on you. And congratulations on 140 weeks of Visible Monday. WOW!! Pleasure being here, again. =)

  14. I love how you wore this – I have no idea how to dress in loose fitting clothes and look look as chic as you do.

BTW, I hope you will join me this Thursday for Throw Back Thursday fashion link up.

  15. You wear this look so well – stunning! I actually like the black cami under it – it gives some depth to the outfit. Thanks for hosting!

  16. I know exactly what you mean about surrending to the fullness. Your floaty outfit looks great and must feel dreamy, especially with your accessories. I laughed when you said, "surrender the middle." Thanks for the party yet again. You hair is looking good.

  17. What a cool and relaxed look Patti! Love the necklace, such a beautiful thing!

  18. Oh, Patti! You look utterly breathtaking! That's so the look I try for whenever I wear my tunic tops but I can never seem to pull it off. And all those bargains! You make me swoon with envy! ;p

  19. Great pieces, Patti. You look very stylish, current, and elegant. Oversized EVERYTHING is so "in" and chic. I love the look. You have the perfect long/lean figure to wear it perfectly.

  20. I think this is such a tough silhouette to pull off, but you're doing it beautifully! I'm jealous!

  21. Lovely look Patti…I do agree though about wearing a light coloured cami underneath. A voluminous look often speaks of comfort over style, but that is not the vibe here at all. You look artfully chic! Thanks for hosting Visible Monday.

  22. I love waist surrendering looks and Patti this looks wonderful. The tunic is lovely and the tonal mix her is just very flattering and feminine.
Thanks again for hosting Visible Monday xx

  23. Lovely look, Patti! You do loose drapey silhouettes so beautifully. Thanks so much for hosting!

  24. Patti, I love the surrender look! In fact, I don't think I would ever go back to the tight fitting tops again if I looked this casually chic. I'm also a huge fan of the neutral shades so I basically could live in this amazing attire. Well done!

  25. Wow…I just wrote about all the reasons I can't wear loose fitting all over and here you are doing it brilliantly. (sigh) There is no way I could do it like you do.

    bisous

  26. You are the absolute queen of chic on a shoestring! I can't believe the quality of the bargains you find, nevermind how gorgeous they look on you! Thanks so much for hosting VM!
