You know we can count on the women of Visible Monday to inspire and motivate. These are real-life women, not models, not 18 years old, and we can relate to their personal style. This week, a look at the outerwear chosen by the amazing Visibles.
As always, the first tip is: wear the coats and jackets that move you, styled the way you like, and own the look.
And even though I live in the sub-tropics, there’s always room in my closet for a chic jacket:
Linda from A Labour Of Life paired her hounds-tooth print coat with a black and white dress and looks fabulous. Can you see her red gloves? A great touch of color. And what is that massive amount of white stuff behind her?
Melanie of Bag And A Beret is always fun and funky, a star of style and risk-taking outfits. Here Mel (who lives in Canada) wears one of her “Shaggies” – the warmest looking coat, and full of personality. You must read her blog, she’s hilarious and inspiring.
Natalia of In The Writer’s Closet mixes all the wonderful Fall colors in this look, topped by a new checked coat. Even Natalia’s sunglasses and hair complement the look. Don’t be afraid to mix plaids. Three plaids together here look superb.
Gail of Is This Mutton (another outstanding blog for you to discover if you haven’t yet) is wearing her Laura Ashley trench. Love this classic-with-details look, and the chic black accessories. Very smart.
Kirsten of The LIFB Issue chose an uber-classic wool camel coat with suede collar. It’s always in style and looks elegant here with Kirsten’s hat, scarf and saddle bag. Stunning setting too:
How do you like to dress for the chill?
Stay fabulous,
Here’s more fab pieces for any age, inspired by the Visible women:

LOVELY COATS OF VARIOUS STYLE
How lovely to see all these beautiful women wrapped up in their wonderful coats – and snow! Today it’s 35 deg C here – but with blogs like yours, Patti, we can be connected whatever the season. Thank you, xx
I agree – I’d love a little snow too, but really don’t mind the 75 degrees F here! xo
Snow in Toronto?!! That would require double-shag action (in the North American muppet coat meaning, maybe). You should come up here in winter so you can get a little shag action too, Patti. Hahaha! I love these other women – thanks for including me among them! Without a cool coat, I’d be done for. Of course, the puppies are the cutest here.
I love Canada in very way (more now than ever) and you’re throwing in a little shag action! Got the passport out. xo
First off, love the puppies in the coats! My pups have their own. I enjoy seeing different coats this time of year even though it is not very cold in NC right now

My pleasure, Gail. xo
