More Wanderings In The Urban Wilderness

The charms of NYC still bewitch us. I’ve done lots of thrift and vintage shopping, and walked my dogs off, while Sandy spends more time working from our rented apartment (one of us has to, yes?). It’s been hot but still walkable, with a big sunhat and lots of iced coffees.

On a somber note, we spent some time at the site of the tragic gas explosion in the East Village. There are touching memorials to the men who died. I believe the community will draw together and heal.

And on a lighter note, here I am at the historic McSorley’s Pub. They serve only beer, no other liquors, so I went with Diet Coke and the cheese platter. It’s a rough and tumble place that we love. You have to share tables with strangers and we’ve never had a bad time.

A night at Yankee Stadium! I haven’t been there since around 1966 (the old stadium of course). The home team lost but we had a wonderful time, and $12 beers and wines.

Stay fabulous, and have an adventure today,

Patti
