I’ve always enjoyed the juxtaposition of menswear on women. As a girly-looking woman, with frizzy blond hair, I really appreciate the contrast of an unexpected men’s suit coat, or oxfords, or even a tie and vest.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

Below I’m wearing a boyish chambray shirt (sim) tucked into cropped AllSaints trousers (thrifted, similar) The trousers have a jodhpur cut, not my usual preference, but I like it here. The artistic black pendant was crafted by my friend Suzanne of Suzanne Carillo, you can find lots of her treasures here.

The velvet print jacket below, one of my favorite accent pieces, is also from Suzanne’s shop. It goes with everything and makes this menswear look more feminine. The oxfords are old, and by Calvin Klein (sim). I’ve had them resoled a few times, and I’m looking for a replacement; that’s how good they are.

And a simple black tuxedo jacket (sim) takes the outfit back to boyish. My photographer was making me laugh, he does that.

Now, let’s see what’s in your closet, Visible Women.

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple:

    1. Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
    2. Go to the bottom of this post and click on the InLinkz button “Add Your Link”. It should open a new page.

  4. You look adorable, as always !!! I am a skirt girl myself, but that is mostly because of issues with my figure, and pants don’t always fit very well. The problems with having a booty !!

  5. You look fabulous carrying this look! I’m a girlie girl and tried to dabble in the menswear sphere…not so good with that. Have a great week, Patti!
