A Black And Blue Any-Day Look: Visible Monday

A black and blue any-day look. We all have a few favorite style “uniforms”, like “jeans plus striped sweater” or “midi skirt plus graphic tee” or “pencil skirt plus button down shirt”, and here’s one of mine: easy-fitting cropped trousers plus a blouse-y blouse. And make them in black and blue, if you don’t mind 😊.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

These versatile trousers are by All Saints, and I thrifted them in NYC for about $25, several years ago. The quality of the brand has held up beautifully. Wardrobe tip: buy high end brands, but buy them lightly used – it’s eco-friendly and wallet friendly.

I had the trousers altered to fit better, adding another $20 to the cost, but the cost-per-wear is already sweet.
Bad hair day? Forgot lipstick? Just not ready for all the daily rigamarole? Change your hat around!

The sky blue long-tailed blouse is by Anthropologie, and rented through Nuuly. With the Nuuly clothing rental service you get to pick six pieces for a month, for about $90. Then return them and pick six more – perfect for a woman like me who keeps a small wardrobe and still enjoys variety. For November, I had also rented a toasty midi-length puffer coat that got me through NYC’s cold days.

This pink stone bracelet (sim) is a feminine touch. I found it at a vintage shop in Delray Beach, at least 20 years ago. I’m fairly minimal, but if I love a piece, I just keep it forever.
This vintage silver brooch represents the city I love. Sandy got it for my last birthday, via Etsy, and it is expressive of my heart and soul.

Are you enjoying one of your own style “uniforms” today? Show us (whatever you’re wearing) in the link-up!

I like the idea of being able to try out a coat without committing to it. Often times I find that 90% of coats are not meant for a Canadian winter.
