Visible Monday #69: Sparkly Shiny

Welcome to Visible Monday #69! If you want to participate, it’s so
easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the simple how-to.

I doubled down on shiny today – I think I broke a rule – with my shimmery pleated skirt and be-spangled belt. I kept things sober up top with a favorite breton-striped tee. And well-grounded below with nude platform sandals. Visible for the win!

Tee: Lands End Canvas; Skirt: DKNY, thrifted; Sandals: Anne Klein
Red, white and navy may be predictable, but I still love it. My husband can
be predictable too, and I love the heck out of him  : >

Now, let’s see what you’re wearing, Visible Women!!

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple!

  1. Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
  2. Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post.
  3. Go to the bottom of this post and click on this cute little link:

In the “Next Step”, you crop the pic (easy tool) you want to display, and you’re done!

  1. You can't go wrong with red, white and navy, especially accompanied by the shine.  We all know that rules are to be broken.

  2. Hey Patti!  For some reason, I can't seem to post a new comment, so I am hitting the reply button to hte last comment!  Love your red skirt, it's so so pretty- lovely pleats and so vibrant, you look beautiful!  Hope you dont mind me posting a little late!

  3. Patti, what is this 'too much sparkle' you speak of? It does not compute! Personally, I'm a 'more the merrier' type gal when it comes to sparkle, so long as it's balanced -as you have done- with something non-sparkly so the eye has a place to rest. Adore that breton top!!! ~Sarah

  4. You broke a rule?  I say, right on!  Your outfit looks very balanced.

  5. Love your striped and red look! My post today is very similar, but my skirt(dress) is coral! 😉

  6. You have so many lovely skirts, I can't believe it! And here's another gorgeous one, perfect length, and shiny too! You've made it look classy and stylish with the striped top, and still a bit surprising. The loose fit really suits you.

  7. Happy Monday, all! And Patti, sparkle looks good on you. (Also, stripes are always perfect.)

  8. Thank you every Monday, my dearest Patti.
You are looking glorious in that skirt.

  9. Red, white and blue always look incredible no matter how you interpret it. Love that floaty skirt with the funky stripes, a match made in heaven! x

  10. Hi Patti!

I love, love this combo so pretty on you
    It is styled to perfection

  11. Oh Patti, the more shimmer the better! I could see that skirt at a Christmas party too! But right now it looks sort of nautical, which I love. Thanks for hosting.

  12. Patti, I don't think it's too much sparkle at all! The mariniére really brings it back to earth, great choice!!  Hope you're enjoying your time in NYC!

  13. The unexpected combo of casual striped top and shiny skirt and belt are fab! The toenail polish color glams up the nude peeptoes, too (although they are pretty glamorous to begin with)

  14. Sparkle and shine? Always winners in my books! You look fantastic. I love reds with your blond hair.

  15. 'scuse me while I swoon! This is such a gorgeous look. I love the skirt, the stripes, and the shoes. Amazing. Break all the rules, Patti!

  16. ooo, that skirt is such a sexy, shiny deep red – like lipstick!  I like the casual looking top, belt and shoes you paired with it to keep it rated PG!

  17. Shiny skirt with stripes – yessssssss!!!! That's ma girl!  Ooooh I did an interesting combo of stripes and shiny on Friday – and err, grounded with a pair of mismatching shoes;)).  Heheeeee!  Thank you for VM Patti! xoxo

  18. I love the way the Breton top keeps it all under control, so to speak.  Great styling!!  Love the length and volume of the skirt especially.

  19. I love the mix of textures!  Red, black and white… my favorite combination!  -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures

  20. sometimes breaking the rule is more interesting than keeping it. i love your fine red skirt and as a contrast your studded belt. i think we all have different sides.

  21. I really love the colour of your skirt Patti, it's very vibrant, and dare I say it, just a little bit festive! x

  22. Rules, schmules 😉 You look fabulous – rules are for breaking as you've just proved, Patti! The red skirt is super pretty and floaty, and I love the looser fit of the top (I have a Breton top but I'd like the fit to be a little looser). Thanks for hosting as always!!
