Welcome to Visible Monday #68! If you want to participate, it’s so
easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the simple how-to.
I don’t wear bright colors very often, but I like the color blocking trend. Here’s a muted version I put together from my closet and felt good in. The GAP Body tank is pre-blocked (ahh, lazy!). I have it in two colors; it’s as soft as jammies.
I paired the top with a simple black layering tee and favorite gray pencil skirt. The silver square pendant is thrifted, as is the green bangle. Simple and Visible for a cheerful day at the office. (Disclosure: This outfit was pre-recorded, as in real time I am in The West Village, NYC, in a cozy sweater and jeans, drinking English Breakfast tea!)
A neutrals kind of woman tries her hand at color blocking. |
The scarf/shawl comes in handy for frigid offices. You know what I’m talking about. |
Because of limited computer capabilities while on vacation, I won’t be able to comment on all your fab entries today, so sorry! But I will be reading and enjoying them all, and I appreciate your participation with a happy heart.
Now, let’s see what you’re wearing, Visible Women!!

I just started following you, and I love the Visible Mondays! I'm so inspired by everyone's style, and can't wait to go shopping and revamp my own closet.
For Visible Monday, do you have to have a blog? I have an Etsy shop and a Facebook page for it, but no blog. I'd love to participate (when I decide on a really fab outfit).
Great colour blocking Patti! I've always been more comfy in neutrals, but have been much more daring with colour after a (very good) colour consultation
I love tops that have build in bits –
Hooray for experimentation! Looking great as always, Patti. I am a dedicated scarf-wearer directly resulting from office chill. Yours is a beauty!
Thank you for hosting another fabulous Visible Monday! Hope you're having a lovely time in NYC.
Love the tank, the whole ensemble works. That scarf just pops.
I am intrigued by color blocking. Maybe I have done it and not realized it, but now all of a sudden I am reading about it everywhere and I want to understand it more! At any rate, you look great! Thanks for your blog; it's a great resource, and it always cheers me up!
xoxo

Oh, I love it! I've been digging putting a tee under a tank, too. In fact, I put a tee under a tank dress for today's post, too! I hope you're having fun in my neck of the woods 🙂 Your plans sound like a blast! Enjoy!!!

I like your coloring blocking. The purple is a very pretty shade and looks great with the gray and black.

I like the subtlety of your color-blocking. You always look so darn elegant! The neutrals make a great foil for that vibrant, gorgeous scarf! I hope you're enjoying the fall weather in NYC.
Hope you're having a wonderful time in New York! Gorgeous colours here, and I am all in favour of pre-blocked colour. 🙂
Hope you're having fun in NYC. I finally managed to upload a photo- hooray!
I love clothes that are soft as jammies! That's my style!! And I hope you are enjoying your English Breakfast tea. I like your outfit with scarf added; that's a nice touch.
Love your muted color-blocked look! 😉 So fresh and pretty. 😉
Enjoy your vacation!
I too am a big fan of color blocking, Patti. Your outfit is subtle, a great balanced mix! And I'm so jealous you can still wear short sleeves and sandals!!! 😉 ~Sarah
You totally should wear bright colours, you look stunning in them. That scarf is gorgeous, really highlights your beautiful blonde locks! x
Love your scarf! I'm also a big fan of scarves!
Hope you're having lots of fun in New York — meanwhile, thanks for arranging this fun get-together at your place yet again!
That is a lovely outfit, and a very different version of colour blocking. I love seeing your green bracelet every time you wear it, and the scarf is so beautiful – it looks like silk!
Have a wonderful time in NYC!
The scarf adds gorgeous pizazz to the whole outfit…love it! Love the shoes too!

Patti, I like the subtle color blocking effect, very nice! And thanks again for hosting Visible Mondays!
That is some cozy, Fall-ish Color Block there Patti. I love that beautiful scarf, too. You look so chill.
Thanks for another Fab Visible Monday. Ada. =)
This is a great casual look – I like how you've layered the pieces up, and the floral print scarf is very pretty. Have fun in NYC!
Patti, I think you look cute in this outfit. Love the pop of green in the bracelete!
You look very pretty – I love the scarf! I hope you are enjoying your time in NYC!
a beautiful way of color blocking! the scarf with the velvet top is also very pretty! have a good time in nyc!
I think the black is harsh next to the other, more gentle colors….
I'm sure you're enjoying completely different weather in NYC. You look very comfy and scarf is luscious.
Fun colorblocking! I've been layering a lot with wacky weather. Hope you're having the best time on your NYC trip!
I love this post.
I really like it with the addition of the scarf! Also, clothes as soft as jammies are wonderful!

Very pretty! Soft & comfy!
I hope you have a wonderful time in NYC!
Again ….so jealous of you being in West Village sipping tea in a sweater!! Have a wonderful time and keep color blocking…it looks great!
I like the color blocking a lot but I do not like the tank top.
Even with the t-shirt underneath it's too casual for someone who isn't at a rock concert in 100 degree heat, plus it doesn't do anything to play up your pretty-darn-good-for a woman-over50 figure.
How about a shirt of that color in a more figure-flattering style on your thrift list?
beautiful scarf! Hope you are having fun in NYC.
Total success on your colour blocking! But I would love to see that smile of contentment on your face while sipping tea in the West Village…
I really like this outfit. The colors all blend together so nicely 🙂
