I seem to have a love affair going on with linen this Spring/Summer. I love that it holds it shape and stands away from my body better than a knit tee. Remember, I don’t have an iron, so linen is by definition “easy care” at my house.

Always room in my closet for a linen skirt or two:

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

This Anthropologie ivory skirt (similar) is old, and thrifted from I can’t remember where. I love that it’s got a Boho flavor without too many tiers and floofs. The linen tank (sim) in palest aqua is also thrifted, from Molly Mutt for a couple of dollars. It’s by Fresh Produce, who make a few things that are right up my summer alley. I wore a black tank underneath so as to avoid any showing of the belly, and a cool 70’s necklace (sim) I picked up at Molly’s.

I tried a neckerchief style scarf (sim) but once again, took it off after one picture. It makes the look too serious, I think.

  1. I LOVE linen anything, love wearing it, love sewing with it and especially I love ironing it which is good because a good iron is a necessity!

  2. Linen is the best, yes! I like that black belly look too. Very nice effect. And you know when less is more.

  3. Lovely and light summer look Patti! I love the pastel top with this skirt, you look fabulous 🙂 hugs xxx

  4. I first came across Anthropolgie in NYC and could not resist 🙂 For summer linen is just the prefect item when we need that fresh and breezy feel. Love all your choices here Patti. The wedges are exactly what I would be wearing too. Have a great day. xo Sabina

btw: how are your eyebrows? I used up all my eyebrow color 😉

  5. Snap! I’m showcasing an Anthropologie skirt on my blog today too Patti. Mine wasn’t thrifted, but I did purchase it during the winter sale which helped. I love that you consider linen low maintenance. I just seem to look like a wrinkled pillowcase when I wear linen, but I still insist on wearing it. Summer hasn’t hit our shores yet, but I can enjoy a taster through your lovely post. You look cool as a cucumber in this boho ensemble x

  6. This is so lovely and flowy on you, Patti! I have a hate-hate (heh) relationship with linen. I love how it looks on everyone except me! Thank you – as always! – for hosting Vis-Mon!

  7. The layers and simply lines of this look are so perfect for spring. I enjoy the muted tones in this color combination – they look so breezy.

  8. I’m shocked that your linen doesn’t get more wrinkled….do you do anything special when you wash it? Dryer? Or is it a linen mix?
You look fabulous—I actually love the neck scarf…probably because I’ve been wearing one for the last couple of days!

    • thanks Jodie – I do dryer for about ten minutes, then shake, shake, shake and hang. xo

  9. So funny that you’re showing linen; I’ve been looking at linen pieces lately. Like seriously stalking them {I mean, if you can stalk clothing}… But I have yet to buy anything. I love the layered look and the wrinkles because it just screams effortless. The black tank under the pale/neutral shades is just perfect.

  11. It’s not quite warm enough for light linen here in Germany but hopefully soon!
Your maxi skirt looks so summery – have a wonderful week, Patti.

  12. You wear linen so well, you look bright and fresh and breezy whilst I look like I’ve spent the night on a park bench.
Love the crop top and skirt and that necklace is gorgeous. xxx

  13. What a lovely Summer outfit Patti. I love lining, but I hate ironing the darn stuff. The thought of easy care linen has me intrigued.
    Thanks for hosting.

  14. It’s funny you should say that about linen Patti, I’ve started a bit of a love affair with the fabric myself! Never keen on the creasing that comes with wearing linen I always steered clear of it. However, since I recently bought a navy linen midi skirt for the deep richness of colour I’ve had a change of heart.
The texture is beautiful & the creases no longer bother me at all – I’m on the hunt for a linen dress now!

  15. So floaty and clean, and iron-free! Yay!
I especially like the pale aqua colour. I don’t know how you manage to look so cool in your warm weather. Amazing!

  16. Awesome necklaces! That skirt is also great … you can do a lot with a skirt like that!

  17. I could easily see myself wearing something similar here around August when it’s hot as you know what! I love the length of that skirt. A very flattering look on you! xo

  18. I love linen when it’s hot, I hate ironing it though ! Looking fabulous as always Patti. I hope it’s OK, I have used a beauty post this week. X

  19. Oooh Patti this kind of look is very me: Easy fit tops (love how you’ve layered yours) and a maxi. Pretty, chic and the bonus of being soooocomfortable!

Thank you for hosting, much love to you – have a great week!

  20. Patti, you look like you should be strolling around the ocean front community of Carmel, California. You look so artsy. I love Fresh Produce for their perfect vacation wear. Have a great week!

  21. Easy-care line, I’m in! In my case ‘easy-care’ also means ‘I can’t remember where I put the iron, and I don’t really care’…

  22. Great summer outfit! I love the white/ivory outfit with just the bit of black.

Fabulous skirt! It has just the right amount of boho for my taste. I used to have a long linen skirt I wore all the time; I may have to keep my eye out for a new one.

    Thanks for the link up!
