A casual tuxedo for any age. Oh hey, mostly kidding – this look is not for evening wear or the runway. But to enhance most days of our semi-casual lives, this tuxedo formula works a charm. A slim, classic-cut blazer makes any jeans outfit more polished, and more versatile (e.g., today I went to the dermatologist and found all my skin spots were benign!)
Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!
The look just takes two minutes longer to assemble than a basic jeans-and-tee shirt. Instead of a cotton tee, choose a silky or drape-y top (this blue Pleione blouse was thrifted in Greenwich Village), and toss on a leather belt and your favorite blazer. Low blocky heels would be a stylish addition, and would dress you up a bit. I went with my not-so-basic snakeskin oxfords.

This jean style – cropped and wide and frayed – may not look so smart a year from now. They’re trendy and fun, but I also own straight-leg, dark-wash jeans that work for any day or event.

That is a lovely jacket, and it pairs so well with the wide leg jeans. If I wear jeans (which seems to be more often these days) I like to add a cool jacket to dress them up a bit.
I love a classic blazer and jeans combination! Those snake print lace ups look great with the slouchy jeans. Glad to hear your skin results came back clear!
