I’m not actually wearing anything blue today, but as you can see, I am singing the blues on the back of my tank top. I gotta tell you, getting dressed with big old pins sticking out of your forearm is challenging. Tank tops are great because you can step into them and gently pull them over all the sore spots.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

I bought this top at one of our local blues bars, and I enjoy wearing it, as it looks sedate in the front and party in the back. The fabulous print skirt (similar) was thrifted on my trip to Toronto with Suzanne and Ally, and it has a delightfully easy elastic waist. I had to have someone help me tie my gladiator sandals (sim). But other than that I dressed myself like a big girl today. : >

the blues

Even though this is an outfit designed around my temporary disability, I would wear it anytime and anywhere in Florida summer.

Lou’s Blues is a very cool joint overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, just a couple of miles from our house. It rocks.

Now, let’s see what’s in your closet, Visible Women.

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple:

  1. You look perfectly chock full of pizzazz Patti! That edgy back speaks to you being a fun lady and your great hair confirms it!

  2. This is a totally fab outfit for any day! Good job on putting it on by yourself, you are a determined woman! And I know what you mean about the shoes – those are tricky! Honestly, I sometimes ask my husband or daughter to buckle my shoes. 🙂

  3. You made the sling look so stylish and chic! Love this skirt and how you paired it with a navy tank top, and accessorized it with a navy sling. Get well soon xoxoxo

    xo,
    Janise

  4. I was noticing how many people are saying the same thing I am thinking–you have made your temporary disability chic! I’ve always found that looking good when I am confronted with a temporary disability or just plain don’t feel good has a way of lifting one’s spirits–hope you feel better soon!

  5. Very cool outfit, you poor Patti. And this time you are lucky with the climate you are in. Imagine layers of sweaters in a cold climate to keep you warm. That would be a horror to get dressed.
Cool skirt and tank and cute shoes. You are cool.

  6. You’re rocking it with the blues, Patti. I love that demure front and then, bam, on the back. And the pretty swirly florals are great with this edgy tank. I’m glad you’ve found a way to dress single-handedly. And your sling camouflage adds to the look. Lots of healing hugs coming at you…

  7. Fabulously stylish and cool despite the unwanted “accessory”. Hope you’re feeling as bright and beautiful as you look. xxx

  8. You’ve almost made the sling part of your outfit here! It must be challenging to get dressed under the circumstances, but you succeeded in not only choosing comfortable pieces but looking great as well. xxx

  9. Postive proof that one need not let some little ol’ sling get in the way of looking fabulous! I remember that skirt from your post on your Toronto trip. Love that print. And the sandals are adorable. Am jealous you have blues bars up in Cocoa. We don’t have any down by me and I love blues and jazz. Have you ever been to Heidi’s Jazz Club?

  10. A bang-up-to-the-minute outfit – I love the unexpected slogan on the back of the top! Your selection of goodies to chase away the blues is seriously tempting, particularly the blue swirly skirt and the blue/yellow flowery skirt.

  11. If not for Lucy Dawn comment about the sling, I would also thought that this is one cold shoulder top, Patti. So sorry for your injury that clearly didn’t dampen your spirit, you look lovely as ever in this cool top

  12. Patti I’ve missed a couple of weeks… so sorry to hear you’ve got an injury!! I totally sympathise because in the last few days my leg injury from 18 months ago has reared its ugly head, so I’m having trouble walking again. It’s (literally) such a pain!! Hope it heals quickly x

And thank you for the link up, and I love the top – such a cool design, I love it!!

    Catherine x

  13. I like your tank top! Great outfit!

And I can only imagine how challenging it must be to get dressed… Or do most things we must do throughout the day…

    I hope you’ll have a good week and that you’ll heal quickly…

  14. This is a great reminder of all the things we take for granted daily…like being able to dress ourselves.

    This outfit rocks!

    bisous
    Suzanne

  15. Well actually … your sling is blue, isn’t it? I do love the tank. Hope your arm is healing well and fast and wishing you a wonderful week!

    Alex – Funky Jungle

  16. Oh Patti, you poor thing! You manage to look very stylish despite having your arm in a sling. Get well soon! xx

  17. Patti, you look very chic, even with your temorary disability. I wish a Kansas City establishment had a top as cool as that, I would jump at it.
